2015 Chevrolet Silverado Z71Chevrolet takes aim at the heart of the

pickup market with the Silverado Custom, which offers Chevy Truck capability and dependability in a stylish package, priced within reach of many truck customers.

Based on the popular double-cab Silverado LS, the Custom package adds 20-inch aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers, a body-colored top cap above the front bumper, and chrome mirror caps and door handles. It also features four full doors for easier access to the front and rear seats, a 40/20/40 cloth front seat, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power windows and door locks, and Chevy MyLink with 4G LTE WiFi.

Most Silverado Custom customers are expected to choose the available 5.3L EcoTec3 V-8, with 355 horsepower and the best fuel economy of any V-8 pickup, up to 23 mpg EPA estimated highway. Silverado Custom also will be available with the 4.3L EcoTec3 V-6, with the most torque of any standard V-6.

All Silverado EcoTec3 engines are direct descendants of the original Small Block Chevy V-8. They feature advanced

technologies such as direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management, which enable four-cylinder operation during light-load driving for improved efficiency. These engines also benefit from more than 60 years – and more than 100 million engines’ worth – of continuous improvement.

Like all Silverado 1500s, the Custom uses a hydroformed, boxed, high-strength steel frame and a cab structure that makes extensive use of high-strength steels. The Silverado 1500 is the only pickup to receive the highest possible 5-star Overall Vehicle Score for safety since the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration changed its New Car Assessment Program for the

2011 model year. Silverado also features a roll-formed steel box, which is lighter and stronger than traditional stamped boxes.

2015 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD Double CabThe 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 maintains

a 12,000-pound maximum trailering rating under SAE J2807 Recommended Practices – calculations being adopted throughout the industry.

“For 2015, the GMC Sierra 1500 builds on the strong foundation introduced with the redesigned 2014 model to offer uncompromising strength, capability and confidence,” said Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer. “The implementation of

SAE J2807 levels the playing field among all manufacturers, affirming the capability customers depend on from GMC.”

Sierra’s 12,000-pound maximum rating is for the Double Cab 2WD configuration equipped with the available 6.2L V-8 engine and available Max Trailering Package. Trailering ratings for other configurations remain the same or are slightly lower, per the new SAE J2807 calculations.

The foundation for all 2015 Sierra 1500 models and their trailering capability is a fully boxed, high-strength steel frame. Extensive use of high-strength steels in the frame and body structure also contributes to a quieter interior and more solid feel, and helps Sierra earn a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for safety in the newest government crash tests.

GMC backs Sierra customers with the ProGrade protection program. It includes two years/24,000 miles (whichever comes first) of scheduled maintenance, covering four services of an oil change, tire rotation and 27-point inspection. It complements the three-year/36,000-mile (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper limited vehicle

warranty and five-year/100,000-mile (whichever comes first) powertrain limited warranty for peace of mind.

2016 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X Crew CabThe Nissan Frontier continues to be

a leader in the mid-size truck segment, combining premium hardware, extraordinary power and an exceptional level of on- and off-road performance. Frontier ’s Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price starts at $18,090 USD (Frontier S King Cab 4x2 I4 5MT).

Enhancements for 2016 include the addition of three new exterior colors: Forged Copper, Gun Metallic and Magnetic Black (eight colors total). Also, a Moonroof Package is added to Frontier Crew Cab SV model.

Frontier again offers a choice of two powerplants: a 4.0-liter DOHC V6 engine rated at 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque or a 152-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine (King Cab only).

Outdoors enthusiasts have turned to the Toyota 4Runner for three decades as the go-to, go-anywhere SUV that also excels as an everyday driver. The TRD Pro Series introduced for 2015 continues for 2016, underscoring the 4Runner’s off-road persona, and all models feature upgraded Entune multimedia systems.

Whether the destination is a difficult-to-reach bike trail, a hidden access point for river rafting or simply a spectacular view, the Toyota 4Runner has been getting owners there for 30+ years. The current-generation

model is the roomiest and most capable in its history and sacrifices none of its rugged function to deliver everyday comfort and versatility. The 4Runner really is the do-it-all SUV. Available third-row seats allow up to seven-passengers to experience great outdoor adventures.

For 2016, the 4Runner does it all again, this year while treating occupants to more functionality from upgraded Entune multimedia systems. Building a Leader

Toyota pioneered the crossover SUV and today offers two of the best -- and best-

2015 Buick EncoreContrary to its compact figure, the 2015

Buick Encore delivers big when it comes to safety. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave both front- and all-wheel drive Encore models a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score after extensively testing both models in its New Car Assessment Program.

As a result, buyers can find models with a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score throughout Buick’s range of 2015 model year vehicles: the Verano, Regal, LaCrosse, Encore and Enclave.

Encore’s five-star ranking reflects its performance in NCAP front, side and

rollover tests. Encore also received a five-star score on a side pole impact test, which simulates hitting a tree just behind the driver’s side A-pillar at 20 mph.

The 2015 Encore’s strength comes from a strong body structure, 66 percent of which is formed from high- and ultra-high strength steel. Encore also offers 10 standard air bags, including driver and front passenger frontal air bags, driver and front passenger knee air bags, front and rear thorax air bags for all outboard seating positions, and side curtain air bags.

2015 Mercedes CLA45AMGIn 1967, two automotive engineers with

a passion for motorsports began fine-tuning engines for Mercedes-Benz racecars in an old mill. A new 1.4-liter turbocharged, direct-injection engine replaces the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine in the S model and the 1.8T in the SE. This engine makes 150 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, as well as improving manufacturer estimated highway fuel economy by more than 15 percent over the outgoing 2.0-liter engine. Fitment of this engine to the Jetta brings Volkswagen’s percentage of vehicles equipped with turbocharged, direct-injection engines up to about 97 percent, reinforcing the company’s leadership in this technology.

Some adjustments to equipment have been made for 2016. TSI and TDI S models add MIB II infotainment with a 5-inch touchscreen and USB, and speed-sensitive electric power steering is now standard. TSI SE, TSI and TDI SE w/ Connectivity and TSI Sport models receive MIB II infotainment with a 6.3-inch touchscreen, USB and VW Car-Net App-Connect, as well as a rearview camera (new for SE). The TSI SEL (replacing the 2015 SE w/ Connectivity and Navigation) receives automatic headlights with rain-sensing wipers and a soft-touch dash. The TSI SEL Premium (replacing the 2015 SEL) and the TDI SEL Premium receive automatic headlights with rain-sensing wipers.

The Tech Package (available on TSI S) includes MIB II infotainment with USB and VW Car-Net App-Connect via a 6.5-inch touchscreen; rearview camera; and an extendable and adjustable armrest.

All Jetta models get the Automatic Post-Collision Braking System and the Driver Assistance Package (available on TSI and TDI SEL and SEL Premium models) now includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) in addition to Blind Spot Monitor w/ Rear Traffic Alert.

The first day of play, September 29, was open only to the 25 warriors selected for this year’s tournament. The second day, September 30, was a Pro-Am, including PGA Tour professionals and the warriors.

The commemorative red, white and blue leather belts featured a laser etched buckle displaying the Bush Center Warrior Open logo and the “keeper” of each buckle was personalized with the participant’s name.

Country Music Star Colt Ford Rocks Nexbelt at the American Century Championship

80 of sports’ and entertainment’s greatest celebrities.

Colt Ford is a musician and songwriter who combines a story-telling blend of country music and hip-hop rhythms.
