Winter is the perfect time to curl up with a good book from your local library. When it is cold and raining outside winter is also a great time to get your kids involved in the many free activities on offer at your local library, including story times, author talks and school holiday programs.
I encourage young people to get involved in the Ink About It writing competition. This year the competition’s theme is ‘hero’ with entrants invited to write a short story or poem on their ideas of a ‘hero’. I can’t wait to read some of the entries from our talented young residents!
Our libraries continue to offer some great events as part of the National Year of Digital Inclusion, which can help you get your resume ready, search for jobs online and navigate your myGov profile. Pop into your local library branch to find out more.
