The Aysix Wireless system provides an end-to-end sensory network to monitor various types of valves while operating in a process plant. This Solution gives operators in both the control room as well as in the field a comprehensive picture of the valves’ performance status in real time.

Traditionally, valve monitoring has been expensive and cumbersome when used with wired systems. In contrast, the Aysix wireless solution utilizes low cost equipment, fast installation, easy operation, and ef-fective diagnostics/maintenance technology. It is also compatible with current conventional instrumentation and communication protocols, thus allowing for the development of new possibilities in control process-ing and accountability.

The Wireless Valve Feedback system does much more than position monitoring.

The System also:

• Saves installation costs in new projects, or to cur-rent blind operating valves, especially in hazardous areas, and in hard to reach, or potentially dangerous locations, as no wiring is needed and it is IS rated for Zone- 1.

• Monitors valves opening and closing “profiles” and detects variations and trends, for use in preventative maintenance and valve failure detection.

• Provides a secure and reliable network

System DescriptionValve Devices (VD) are attached to an actuated or manual valve to monitor the valves’ status and report wirelessly.

A network of VALVE DEVICE ROUTERS (VDR) that transfers the monitoring data from the VDs on a wire-less MESH network to the Tunneling VDR

Tunneling VDR (TVDR) - Last hop VDR that transfers collected data from the VDRs network to the Gateway. Several TVDRs can be connected via TCP/IP.

Gateway - An industrial computer that manages the wireless system.

EMS - Electronic Management System: a software management tool that monitors and reports about the valves’ position and health status. The EMS provides data in common industrial standard connections to the HMI, DCS, and PLCs On site.

Operator Device (OD) - which is a handheld device that is used by the process line operator for setup and local data retrieval from the wireless valve device (VD).

The network is designed to be robust, reliable and cost-effective. It is also designed to use very little power. The monitoring system uses a relatively short range wireless communication thus enhancing the security of the network. The communication network is self-organized and self-healing which keeps levels of availability high and maintenance costs low.

Wireless DC Powered Combining simplicity and functional-ity in an industrial point to point RF transceiver, the A750 receiver and A753 transmitter offer quick installation and reliable transmission of a 4-20mA signal and two digital inputs and outputs.

Wireless - Repeater

To transmit/receive RF signals over ob-stacles or for greater distance the A759 RF repeater can be utilized. The A759 works in concert with the A750 receiver and A753 transmitter. The A759 will automatically detect the A750 and A753 and begin repeating, no setup required.

Expansion ModulesExpansion modules are used to in-crease the number of inputs and out-puts available on the A753 RF trans-mitter and/or A750 RF receiver. Both analog and digital inputs/outputs can be expanded. Communication between module and transmitter or receiver is accomplished via AnaBus

Hazardous Area Antennas The CTB, CTM, & CTX Series of antennas are designed for use in “Hazardous-Classified” and Indus-trial-Hardened applications. The antennas are omni-directional with 2.0 dBi gain and designed for flexible mounting.

Hazardous Area WirelessThe A753-EXP houses the DIN rail model A753 RF transmitter in a haz-ardous area enclosure with explosion proof antenna. Input is 4-20mA and two discrete switches. The A753-EXP is designed for Class 1, Division 1, Groups C & D environments

Multi-Channel Expansion ModuleThe RF I/O Expansion Model A16000 can expand the inputs or outputs to 16. Up to four internal cards can be added to the A16000. Internal cards can include analog or digital inputs or outputs. Each card has up to four in-puts or outputs. Cards can be mixed, example: four 4-20mA inputs, four 4-20mA outputs, eight relay outputs. The A16000 is powered by the A750 or A753 via Anabus

Our wireless products have been implemented for a variety of applications including tank level, temperature (thermocouples), pressure, alarms, as well as standard 4-20mA transmission. Systems include long range 900MHz or low cost 2.4GHz. Power sources include 24Vdc, 120Vac, solar and battery. Aysix wireless transceivers can replace a single 4-20mA signal with two discrete inputs/outputs, or expansion modules can be used with multiple inputs and outputs with the transmitter and receiver.
