December 2013 Health Tips from Nurse Suzette
The elves keep warm at the North Pole by ex-
ercising for 60 minutes every day. Let’s all be
an elf and keep moving during the holidays!
Use a small dessert plate instead of a dinner plate Start with fruits and veggies first and skip the dip Don’t walk into a party hungry
Freeze gifts of baked good so you can enjoy them over several months
Try healthier makeovers of holiday favorites
HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS POOL PARTY
Elementary Student Leadership would like to
invite ALL Grade 3-5 students to our “Back to
School” Pool Party on January 10th, 2014 from
3:15 – 4:30. The cost is $10 CI, and a snack will
be provided. There will be supervised pool
games and fun activities for the kids. We hope
to see all students in
grades 3-5 who will
have a SPLASHING
good time! Permission
forms will be sent out
Monday January 6th.
ELEMENTARY ASSEMBLY
Elementary Student Leadership pre-sented the IB Learner Profile on “Caring” last Friday at the assem-bly. The students presented to the Humane Society, Dept. of Children and Family Services and Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) with various contributions from the school communi-ty. Additionally, Elementary Student Leadership recorded a video regarding the concept of “Pay It Forward.” This is when you do an act of kindness for someone without expect-ing anything in return. Each student received a “Pay It For-ward” bracelet and should pass it to another individual after an act of kindness is done. He/She will take off the bracelet and say, “Pay It Forward” in hopes that he next per-son will pass it on. We anticipate that these bracelets will not only cir-culate throughout the school, but further into our
community and world.
SECONDARY GIRLS FOOTBALL TRAINING
