There, Melissa found the freedom and contentment of practice, completing her 500hr Ashtanga Vinyasa and 400hr Vinyasa Flow trainings, then given the opportunity to assist Julie on workshops and teacher trainings around the world. Progressive learning from a variety of senior teachers and yogic disciplines, Melissa's journey continues to grow and inspire both her as a teacher and her students.

Have you wondered why we chant at the beginning and end of our practice? Here we will learn the meanings and reasons of the various chants, mantras and invocations connected to all yoga practices. The true essence of Bhakti Yoga will be discussed and students will have the opportunity to gain further understanding of this aspect of yoga.

We will then have the opportunity as a group to sing together with live music. In the recitation the sound is very important, for it can bring transformation in you while leading you to power and strength.

5-7pm: Gudied by Melissa

The practice will be a Vinyasa Flow class, guided by Melissa, which will focus on opening the front line of the body and connecting to our heart centre. Laura will support the flow with live chanting and accompanied by the Harmonium, the traditional Indian Bhajan instrument.

Join us for this unique experience of delving deeper within your self. Vibrational chanting and music will create the space for inner transformation allowing a truly meditative practice.

In order to not break the energy flow of the class this will not be an alignment-focused class therefore it is NOT recommended for beginners.

After becoming interested in yoga at university Laura sought a deeper awareness by traveling and living all over India. Completing her first training with Sivananda in 2008 and later her Ashtanga Vinyasa training in Mysore with teacher Ajay Kumar, in 2011, she has also taught at the Sivananda ashram for 8 months as staff, as well as in Goa, & Kolkata. Laura also runs regular retreats around the world and has attended workshops with senior Ashtanga teachers Kino Macgregor, John Scott and Mark Darby.

Melissa's awareness to create a deeper relationship between the mind, body and spirit lead her onto a yogic path allowing cultivation of peace in her life. Beginning her practice in 2003 and initial training in 2009 finding a yogi 'home' at Brahmani Yoga in Goa, under Julie Martin.
