ANNOUNCEMENT ORGANIZER The organizer of the Walter Koschatzky Art-Award is the ROTARY CLUB VIENNA-ALBERTINA, E-Mail: [email protected] ELIGIBLE ARTISTS Eligible to participate are artists who have not yet reached the age of 35 by the end of 1st May 2019. ELIGIBLE ARTWORKS All works on paper are admitted to the competition. Excluded is pure, graphically or digitally unprocessed photography. The maximum dimensions are 100 x 140 cm without frame and 110 x 150 cm with frame, with a maximum depth (thickness) of 15 cm. The participants must be up to max. submit three works in any technique, ONLINE ONLY, using the entry on the website www.koschatzkykunstpreis.at. THEME There are no limits to the creative bandwith. There are no thematic guidelines. The club president of the organizer represents the club (organizer) with one vote. The quorum for the award is the simply majority.

February 2019 Pre-selection of the artists to be invited to the final round by the jury From 15. March 2019 Invitation to selected artists to deliver their works in the original (Phase 2) Mid April 2019 (expected) Submission of the original works selected by the jury – Vienna Until end of April 2019 Jury selection based on the original works and nomination of max. 70 artists for the exhibition; Afterwards printing and dispatch of a catalog of all nominated works (Phase 3) May/June 2019 (expected) Vernissage of the nominated works – Place Vienna May/June 2019 (expected) Exhibition of the nominated works; Jury selection of winners and decision on additional purchases 28. ANNOUNCEMENT PRICES AND PURCHASES 1. Prize: € 6.000 2. Prize: € 4.000 3. Prize: € 2.500 In addition, purchases with a total value of at least € 5,000 are planned by the organizer and sponsors. The final amount of the purchase budget will be set May 2019. The prize-winning works will be purchased for € 1,000 each (in addition to the prize money) and, like the purchased works, will be transferred to the „Collection of the RC Wien-Albertina“. CATALOG The organizer will (if possible) create a catalog of all nominated works and make copies available to nominated artists. ONLINE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (Phase 1) The conditions for participating in the competition is the complete completion of the online Form on our homepage www.koschatzkykunstpreis.at . All content-related requirements listed there must be observed. The uploaded photos must have a sufficient quality (300 dpi / 20x30cm, without frame) for a possible catalog production, but may not exceed the maximum size (1 MB). Only the formats “jpg“ and “gif“ are allowed and the Filenames must be structured as follows: artistname_title.jpg or gif. In the case that there is no title or the same title, the number 1, 2, or 3 must be added (eg: Mueller_noTitle2.jpg). Filenames must not include special characters or empty spaces. Subsequent requests (after the submission via online registration) for the deletion of submitted and published contents as well as photos of works can not be considered. There is no right to later deletion of submitted content.



ANNOUNCEMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SUBMITTED WORKS (Phase 2) In the case of invitation by the jury after the preselection, the submitted original works not only comply with the format and technical specifications (s.o.), but meet the following requirements (exclusion criterion): § All works must be framed and fitted with a suitable suspension device (already installed) for wall mounting. § On the back or on a sheet bound to the work of art the following mandatory information must be given:

- First and last name of the Artist - Date of Birth - Address, telephone number, e-maila - Title / Technique / Size / Year - Amount of the desired sales price incl. Framing and sales commission.

SALES All submitted works that have not become the property of the organizer through purchase may be sold, but not handed over to the buyers prior tot he award ceremony. Sales are made exclusively at the retail price specified by the artist, with the organizer retaining a gallery commision of 50% of the selling price, which will be awarded to the competition or, in the event of surplus, a project (schloarship) to support young visual atrists benefity a jury. Artists will be informed within two weeks after award ceremony by email from a successful sale and asked to give their account details. Within a further two weeks, the sales proceeds minus commission will be tranferred. The organizer reserves the right to inform artists in case of unrealistically high selling prices. AUCTION The organizer reserves the right to auction the winning and purchase works at a later date as part of an anniversary auction. The proceeds from this auction will also be used exclusively for the competition or, in the case of a surplus, for a project (scholarship) to support young, visual artists with the selection of a jury. The consignor waives at this auction on a resale right surcharge acc. EU Directive 2001/84 / EU, which would provide for a payment to the artist for auction proceeds over € 2,500.



ANNOUNCEMENT DELIVERY AND COLLECTION ADDRESS OF THE WORKS INVITED FOR SUBMISSION The delivery and collection address will be announced by email after the pre-selection in March 2019 or announced on the homepage of the organizer. COLLECTION / RETURN Submitted works that have not been purchased or sold can be picked up at the location in Vienna announced by the organizer by e-mail on one of two possible dates. If the work (s) are picked up by a person other than the artist, no later than 48 hours before the pick-up date a corresponding information (proxy) by mail with the name and the date of birth of the collector is required, which then also identify themselves on pick-up. Non-winning works, which were not picked up until the end of July 2019, may be used by the organizer from August 2019 for charitable purposes (eg auction in special event). PACKAGING The organizer will endeavor to use the special transport packaging marked clearly with the data of the artists and the work again when returning the works, but this can not be guaranteed. INSURANCE The work is insured from the time of delivery to the provision in accordance with customary practice, with the insured value (equal to the total loss value) being 50% of the desired sales price. COMPETETIVE CONDITIONS By participating in the competition, the participants declare themselves in agreement with the conditions of the competition and unconditionally agree to the exclusion of legal recourse.
