Now is a great time to check on your students progress; the end of the semester is Friday, January 24. If a student needs some additional help, now is the time to get that support. We realize our front driveway, regarding drop off, pick up and parking, is an issue. This has increased traffic to the back of the school, which causes some safety issues and congestion for our busses. If we can be patient and stagger pick-ups to a few minutes after the bell, there will be less cars blocking the driveways and may help everyone out in the end. When we return from Winter break, our security updates should be complete. There will be some adjustments as we get used to the new construction and security upgrades. We are still working on a solution that will allow our Running Start and New Market students access to the building near their parking area. Winter activities have begun! We are looking forward to watching our student athletes compete and our music students perform: Orchestra concert December 4, Band concert December 5 and Choir concert December 12. All concerts will be held in our newly remodeled Performing Arts Center at 7:00 PM. We also have a BHHS Booster club meeting Dec. 11 at 6:30 in the staff lounge. As always we would love to see you at these events and the Booster club is open to all, so join us!! It is important students are here at school on time in their classes. We are still having too many tardies and unexcused absences; please work with us to assist your student(s) being present and on time. Good luck DECA club at the Area competition coming up January 15! If you have a senior, please check in with them regarding their progress for the senior exit interviews coming up on April 1 and 2. They need to have 30-community service hours completed and am updated resume turned in to Ms. Bender in the career center, before being able to schedule their Senior Exit interview. Lastly, I want to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with your sons and daughters. We really have great students here at Black Hills High School. They brighten my day every single day and I am grateful I get to work with them on getting a top-notch education. Please feel free to contact me anytime, if you have any question, comments or feedback. The last day of school before winter break is Friday Dec. 20, 2019 and we return to school on Monday January 6, 2020. Have a Great December!! Go Wolves!!
