Wolves: A look at their history, enemies and positive resurgence in pop culture.
by Mike Wagner Founder and Director of Heart of the Wolf Organization
Warning, the following article although factual, has text and pictures that are not
for the faint of heart. Parental Discretion is advised.
Wolves are a creature like none other on the planet. A species that has been on the Earth
for as long as humans can remember them and one that is loved and hated by humans.
Although there are more Wolves now than there were 30 years ago, the trials and
tribulations they face are the same now as they were hundreds of years ago but indifferent forms.
BASIC FACTS ABOUT WOLVES
Wolves are canids, the ancestors of dogs. They are pack animals, where they can have a
pack of as few as 2 to as many as 14. They have a structure of society, which are called
packs, which are complex family systems that are integral to their survival.
The pack leaders are the Alpha pair. The pair is of course, one female and one male. Both
are equals. The Alpha pair usually are bonded for life. Those who are second in
command are the Beta pair.
Then you have of course the regular pack members. The wolf that is last in rank in the
pack are called Omega.
Packs are just like human families. Packs also hunt together, which is one of the most
important aspects, since it is their primary strategy for food acquisition. What is
fascinating is that about any wolf pup that isnt even a part of a pack and doesnt have
one, will get accepted into that pack.

Wolves once inhabited almost everywhere in the world. However starting with time
before the 1500s, that changed, and by the late 1970s, Wolves were primarily in
Canada, Alaska, Minnesota, and China.
Wolves eat a variety of types of food. They eat elk, bison, and yes even fruits.Watermelons are some of their favorite kind.
Wolves have had a history that has been one that has been horrible to them for more than
500 years.1
THE WAR AGAINST THE WOLF
'As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no
harmony between people. Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together.' --Isaac Bashevis Singer
The War Against The Wolf was one of the most horrible wars in history. Millions of
Wolves were slaughtered. And they were slaughtered in some of the most horrible ways
imaginable.
Wolves were murdered for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons was because the early
modern humans spurned nature and isolated from it. They soon developed their own
cities and forgot about nature. Once becoming masters of their own domain, and thinking
they were superior to every life form, they began to systematically slaughter nature and
oppress it under the guise of resource as well as dominance. They forgot they were once a
part of nature. They forgot that Wolves were necessary for ecosystems to survive and that
they were in charge of these ecosystems. Wolves did live with humans in spite of this in
certain regions around the world. But this didnt last forever.
2
Another reason was that Wolves were and still (even by some in the modern era), are
considered monsters. Fairy tales, like Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs,
The Boy Who Cried Wolf and Peter and the Wolf, among others still inspire fear and
hatred of Wolves. Books like The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobeby C.S. Lewis,
didnt help the Wolves image as the main characters kill Wolves and made a weapon out
of them called Wolfsbane3. Even over the past year, the films The Chronicles of Narnia
(and its games),Lady In the Water, and Cry Wolf, still represent the wolf that is
associated with these fairy tales, a monster that loves to murder and people and eat
children. An image that is a lie and one that many still believe in.
They were also slaughtered because of livestock issues. Because ranchers chose not to
co-exist with Wolves and find out ways to peacefully prevent livestock issues, Wolves
were slaughtered not just by them but their hired guns, the U.S. Government. This
continues this very day, in a different war: The War For the Wolf.

By the 1500s, The War Against the Wolf, was already under way. By this time Wolves
were already annihilated from England.4 Soon they would be annihilated in other parts
of the world.
The last Scottish Wolves were destroyed completely by 1864. The Irish Wolves wereannihilated by 1770. And the last Wolves in Denmark were destroyed by 1772. And
Bavaria, the last Wolves were slaughtered by 1847.5
The War Against the Wolf picked up then in the United States during the 1800s. Wolfers
headed the effort at this time. Wolfers are those who werent of the government who
hunted down Wolves and slaughtered them. One of the ways they were slaughtered was
through the use of poisons. In particular Wolves were poisoned though strychnine by
Wolfers. Poisoning through the use of strychnine was commonly used from 1860-1885.6
This is the way that Wolfers createdstrychnine. (Picture from The Wolves of North AmericaPt. 1)

Wolves would not only be poisoned, but so were pups and the slaughter was
photographed.7
(Picture fromVicious pg. 72)
During this time in the U.S., people set fire to thousands of acres of land to get rid ofWolves. Forests, crops, and more were burned alive.
Wolf hunters who captured Wolves did many horrible things to them before releasing
them. Such as cutting off their Achilles tendons, wiring their jaws shut, or even sawing
off their lower jaws. Since they could not survive because they couldn't eat, or even
move, they would endure a death that no one would want to experience.8
Eskimos even used weapons to murder Wolves. Weapons like the one in the picture was
used to torture, and murder the wolf that was the target. Such weapons like this dont
create a bond or a connection to nature.

It was created out of Whale bone. It would be heated, and twisted into a spiral and tied,
smeared with fat. After consumed, the body heat and the process of digestion causes the
bone spiral to loosen and it then pierces through the stomach. This would create an
agonizing death for the wolf. This is because its stomach would be pierced and the
stomach acid would burn in the inside of its body while the stomach would be
destroyed.9
One of the most painful ways to die for a human is to get shot in the stomach. Imagine if
your stomach was pierced and impaled by a hard piercing object. Not pleasant indeed.
Wolves were set on fire with gasoline while they were still alive.10
Much like the Native Americans, they would meet the same fate, their cultures nearly
annihilated and slaughtered by thousands if not millions. By 190411
, Wolves even as far
as in Japan would be totally destroyed through the coaxing of a Ohio Rancher by the
name of Edwin Dun.12
The U.S. Government was persuaded by the Ranching Community in the early 1900s to
hunt down and slaughter Wolves from the face of the nation. The U.S. Biological

in addition to the National Park Service14
began their operations to wipe Wolves
off the face of the U.S.15
They started their operation to annihilate Wolves by using
several methods: hunting camps, poisoning Wolves through the continued use of
strychnine, bounties (which goes back as far as the 1400s in Scotland16
), traps, and the
destruction of wolf pups.17
It should be noted that the President at that time, Theodore
Roosevelt, supported the annihilation of Wolves in the U.S.
They had Wolf Hunting Camps, where they systematically hunted down Wolves and
slaughtered them. They had photographs of hundreds of corpses that they collected.18
Pups were captured so their cries of help would be answered and those who came would
be murdered.19
Pups would also be strangled to death.
(A Wolf Hunter Camp in Wyoming, Picture from The Wolves of North America Pt. 1pg. 317)
In the 1900s in the U.S., the disease known as mange was used to infect captured
Wolves in the hopes of spreading to other Wolves. Not only did Wolves suffer, but
livestock and other animals.20

Agents from the U.S. Biological Survey would use methods that were equally sinister and
horrific to slaughter Wolves. One agent in history (name unknown) would dig shallow
holes for his traps. He would cover them with a thin layer of dirt, and bait the plants left
of the traps. These were plants that were at one point used by Wolves as scent posts.
Drops from a mixture of urine and excretions from the gall and anal glands of former
captive Wolves was added to the plants. It was designed so that when a wolf detected thestrange scent, it would investigate and get caught in the trap to later be murdered.
21
In Arizona the trapper Stanley Young, who started out as a U.S. Biological Survey as a
trapper, would become a monster beyond what he was already. He would be the director
of the agencys Predator Control (murder) Program. His activities were just as heinous as
the U.S. Biological Surveys methods. As told by Philip Gipson, former Animal Damage
Control biologist (a dark irony since these Humans slaughtered countless Wolves), said
that wolf males were captured, muzzled and chained.22
The USBS would then wrap a thin
wire around the wolfs penis so it couldnt urinate. After this sick torture, they would
murder the wolf and collect its urine so they could use it as a scent in traps to capture
and murder more Wolves.23
Wolf hunters like Bill Shaw even captured wolf pups and used them as bait to lure other
Wolves so he could slaughter them.24
By 1900, the Polish Wolves were extinct because of humans as well as in France by
1927.25
By 1945, Wolf bounties and the U.S. Government, (which just finished World War II by
nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki and before that defeating the Nazis) finished the
destruction of all Wolves in Colorado.26
The USFWS then would absorb the U.S.B.S. in
1940 and continue the wolf extermination operation starting in 1946. In particular theyquickly dealt with the Wolves that were crossing the border from Mexico into the U.S.
and also would begin war against the Wolves in Mexico.27
Not too long after this the last Wolves in Mexico were totally annihilated by 1960.28
In 1975, the last wolf in Yellowstone Park, was murdered29
. Wolves, including Mexican
Gray Wolves and Red Wolves, were practically wiped out in the United States thanks to
Government Agencies, Ranchers and Wolfers. And Wolves were nearly wiped out all
around the world, except for Alaska, Canada, Minnesota and China.

It wouldnt be until 20 years later that a new war would begin, The War For the Wolf.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
Wolves were still in Minnesota after 1975. The murderous U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
would start continuing their work by using methods of murder in livestock depredationissues by Wolves. It was started in 1978s when Wolves were delisted from Endangered
Species Act to Threatened status under the Endangered Species Act. This would allow
them to slaughter Wolves in livestock issues.30
These methods are used this very day by this same agencies and others such as Fish and
Games, Department of Natural Resources, and Wildlife Services. And Non-Lethal
Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching Practices are still denied and lied about to the
public by these agencies. They are as a result, Eco-Fascists as well as those who support
these agencies. Eco-Fascism is the idea of humans being able to commit atrocity against
nature because they are the highest in power and oppressing nature through managing
it, murdering it, and slaughtering it. Eco-fascism is different than fascism since fascism ishumans this same that to humans and that is what the Nazis did. In both cases, those who
subscribe to this system justify it and think it is for the subjects own good or the systems
good.
Despite being one of the most hated, feared and oppressed races on Earth and nearly
annihilated in the U.S. and around the world, they started to return to the U.S. not long
after 1975. They began to return to Montana in the 1980s.31
Plans to return Wolves to the U.S. were in motion, though those who would return them
would become as evil as their predecessors.
THE WAR FOR THE WOLF
The more things change, the more they stay the same Snake Plissken, Escape From L.A.
The War for the Wolf, which is still going on, is a war to bring peace between humans
and Wolves and to re-colonize Wolves to their homelands. It is also to protect their
rights.
Many events started this, and the atrocities that are still being committed on Wolves are
horrific and unjustifiable. Some events too have been positive and uplifting. This war
would begin in the U.S.
A select group of Wolves were captured from Canada and brought to Yellowstone in
1995. It was an effort that was almost stopped by the U.S. Government. Those who were
involved with the effort were Ed Bangs, Carter Niemeyer, Mike Jimenez, Doug Smith,
and others.32

Although the program was successful due to different ways of acclimating Wolves to
their local environment, releasing them and populations started growing, it wouldnt be
long until events would repeat themselves of the past.
Ed Bangs would be soon in charge of Wolves in Montana. Mike Jimenez would be in
charge of Wolves in Wyoming. And Carter Niemeyer would be in charge of Wolves inIdaho in 2000
33.
All would soon employ and endorse murder of Wolves in livestock issues. Niemeyer in
particular felt guilty at first for slaughtering Wolves with his shotgun. But he too was
already evil and would become something hideous.34
In the 1980s Wolves began to return to Norway and Sweden. Years later and even in the
present, the governments of both these countries conduct aerial culling operations.
Although the governments had protections set up for them in the 1960s in Norway and
the 1970s in Sweden which those outside of the government who kill them are arrested,
the government gets away with murder every year. Once again, the lack of use of Non-Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching to prevent livestock depredations from
occurring and protecting hunting dogs has caused public opinion to rise in the aspect of
hating and wanting Wolves murdered.35
Despite this, groups that support the Wolves in
Norway and Sweden have been on the rise since the end of the 20th
Century.
As of this year Norway wants only 3 wolf packs.36
Three and yet the whole population of
Norway of Humans as of July of 2006 is 4,660,387.37
In the late 1990s in Alaska, the mass murdering of Wolves by aerial hunting by the state
would resume. In 1999, the dreaded Senate Bill 74, formed by Senator Pete Kelly which
would allow aerial hunting of Wolves was created38
. It was banned by the Governor TonyKnowles. But despite public outcry and opposition of aerial wolf hunting in Alaska, it
was passed in 2000 under a new name, SB 267. It was supported by Governor Tony
Knowles who originally banned aerial wolf hunting in 1994 and struck down SB 7439
.
And soon Wolves were slaughtered en masse. After Knowles was gone from office, he
was soon replaced by Governor Frank Murkowski in November of 2002. At first he
supported the Wolves. But he was soon supported by the Alaskan Department of Fish and
Game and Hunters. Because of this, he changed his mind40
and began the slaughter of
Wolves in 200441

Here is one of the results of their slaughter.
In April of 2002, after the USFWS had slaughtered countless Wolves for many years,
they slaughtered a famous wolf pack called the Whitehawk Pack in Idaho. Despite public
outcry and Ed Bangs getting more than a 100 emails asking for the halting of this, Carter
Niemeyer personally slaughtered the rest of the pack. He lied also about Non-Lethal
Methods being used their fullest. Although he knew what he did was wrong, heslaughtered the Whitehawk Pack in the end. It wasnt the first time he and his cohorts
lied and murdered Wolves. And it certainly wouldnt be the last.42
Ralph Maughan blamed the issue on the Whitehawk Pack because he thought at the time
that there were too many Wolves.43
Strange how many millions of people occupy the
U.S. and how few land there is for other creatures to live on. And strange how so much
evidence shows that livestock issues can be peacefully prevented through the use of Non-
Lethal Methods Only and Predator Friendly Ranching Practices.44

The Department of Natural Resources in Wisconsin led
by the murderous Adrian Wydeven would too slaughter Wolves and did so until the
practice had been suspended by a judge last month. He like the USFWS is highly against
the promotion, distribution and enforcement of Non-Lethal Methods and Predator
Friendly Ranching Practices in livestock issues.45
Defenders of Wildlife was a pioneer of Non-Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly
Ranching Practices. At first they helped the ranchers, the Holders to do this46
. But they
would soon raise the banner themselves of corruption and support the murder of Wolves
in livestock issues.
In 2004 the plight of Kei the Wolf was revealed. Kei is a wolf that inhabits the Okinawa
Zoo.
(Kei the Wolf)
Okinawa is an island that is off the coast of southwestern Japan. A campaign to help Kei
was created by Earl Bingley (President of Canadian Voice for Animals) and now is run
by Greg Leisure. The campaign was created at first to free Kei from this zoo, who for
twelve years imprisoned her in a 7 X 5 meter cage. The conditions Kei lived in were

terrible. Thanks to two years of activist intervention, Kei now has a bigger enclosure and
can go indoors to leave the area of humans. Although a release of Kei was the original
objective, at least some progress was made. Kei couldnt at this point be transported to
the States without dying, so a victory is still a victory.47
Deliberations took place starting in July of 2004 over the possibility of Wolves returningto Colorado and how they should be managed. This wasnt too long after a wolf was ran
over on Interstate 70 in Colorado. A variety of interest groups forming under what was
called a working group, were on a panel to discuss what they think should be the fate of
Wolves should more enter Colorado.48
The Heart of the Wolf Organization was created
around the time the deliberations began. This was the hope to finally bring to the public
the idea of getting humans to live with Wolves without violent or oppressive means.49
In
particular the revelation about what has been buried because of denials and lies for so
long, Non-Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching Practices, was revealed.
These are practices that prevent losses to both sides, wolf and livestock alike. Through
cattle rotation, livestock protecting dogs and fences, it has been scientifically been
proven to work.50
Heart of the Wolf was created also to expose the truth about those who murder Wolves.
Ed Bangs was there too, one of the worst wolf murderers. Not only did he purposely
ignore the proof and validity of Non-Lethal methods and Predator Friendly Ranching, he
lied to the working group through a power point about the effectiveness of murder in
livestock issues. He also ignored my speech about the subject to the working group.51
He and the USFWS would soon rush to get Wolves delisted from Endangered to
Threatened. This would also prevented Wolves from being reintroduced elsewhere.
Thats because they thought their job was done and that Wolves were recovered52
.
In February of 2005 a Federal District Court Judge by the name of Robert E. Jones
(District Court of Oregon), uphold the Endangered Status of Wolves in the United States.
This had big implications. For one, it would allow the continued growth of wolf
populations in the U.S. It also was supposed to protect Wolves from being destroyed in
livestock issues53
. Of course the USFWS, and other Government Agencies got around
this, because they still slaughter Wolves every week.. The Wisconsin DNR who prided
itself on slaughtering Wolves in livestock issues didnt expect this to happen. They
waged a campaign to get permits (and succeeded for a year) to slaughter Wolves in
livestock issues led by Adrian Wydeven, and Ron Refsnider. And believe it or not, one of

the supporters to cull and murder Wolves in livestock issues is none other than the world
renowned Wolf Expert, David Mech.54
In his book, Wolves: Behavior, Ecology, and
Conservation, he even advocates murdering Wolves in livestock issues to solve
depredation issues.55
Rolf Peterson, who is also a wolf-expert as inspired by Mechs
work to support the murder of Wolves in livestock issues.56
In March of 2005, a Wolf Biologist that worked for the Alaskan Government by the name
of Lena S., was nearly killed. She opposed her governments policy of slaughtering
Wolves. Ran off the road and left for dead, she luckily made a full recovery. Because of
this incident, she had to leave the state and go into hiding.57
In May of 2005, a wolf was murdered by the French Government58
on French news
programs59
.
April 2005,Peoples Daily Onlinerevealed how the governments in China murder
Wolves to protect the deer populations for their own economical gain. Sound familiar?
This is exactly what the Alaskan Government is doing to Wolves. Culling Wolves bysaying that they are protecting the prey animals which are in turn slaughtered by hunters
for economical gain.60
In September of 2005, an article calledVictims Of Their Own Successwas published. In
this article, Defenders of Wildlife and Carter Niemeyer both supported the murdering of
Wolves in livestock issues. Defenders of Wildlife who pioneered Predator Friendly
Ranching, and helped the ranchers the Holders start it and endorse it, didnt mention it at
all.61
This same year, a wolf in Turkey dubbed Kurt by activists, was captured and tortured.
Despite letters from activists around the world he is still believed to be tortured andcaptured.

(Kurt the Wolf)
In November of 2005, Wolves were framed for the death of a man due to unknown
circumstances in Points North Landing, Canada. Things went from bad to worse as theCanadian press and the Canadian Environmental Department automatically blamed the
Wolves that were in the area for the death of the man. The Canadian Government then
allowed humans to murder Wolves in 'self-defense' after false news reports said Wolves
killed a man. After that, scientists from the Ministry of Natural Resources wanted to have
Wolves murdered for 'research.'
They wanted to find out population of information of Wolves. Numbers, gender and
species. And they believed they could do that by killing Wolves and examining their
body
parts. The Canadian Government just used this as an excuse to mass murder Wolves. The
MNR wanted to enlist hunters and trappers, who are more than eager to murder Wolves.
Two Wolves in the area of Points North Landing, Canada were murdered not long after
this. And the magazine Field and Stream leapt onto the bandwagon. They believed and
propagandized that Wolves killed that man and had a poll that asked whether Wolves
should be hunted. Luckily in that poll, the Wolves won. Believe it or not, this whole issue
and the murders of the Wolves occurred within a span of a week.63
It should be noted that the findings as to what really killed that man were never released
or reported about.
In December of 2005 the film version of Chronicles of Narniawould be released. A film
that once again would paint Wolves as monsters. An investigative report by this writer
would reveal that the Wolf-dog that was used in this film by the name Maverick, was
loaned by the notorious Gentle Jungle. This is a group that has been responsible for many
cases of animal abuse. They loaned it to Nancy Brown from the Black Mountain Full
Moon Farm. She thought that by making Wolves portrayed in this film as evil and

showing Maverick around to the press would promote a positive image for Wolves.
When these parties were exposed, they contacted Wolf-dog breeders via the Yahoo
network who profited off of Wolf-dogs, like Mike Eisenfeld. This was an attempt to get
this article writer banned from Wolf groups on Yahoo. Nancy Brown also tried to use
intimidation tactics like threatening legal action and other tactics like the conservation
group Sinapu had done in the past to Heart of the Wolf. All attempts failed.64
It wasnt the first film in 2005 to portray the Wolf as evil. The film, Cry Wolfwas
released earlier on that year. It was inspired by The Boy Who Cried Wolf, which was
a fairy tale about a boy was supposed to guard sheep from a wolf. He lied about the wolf
being around and when the wolf shows up, he gets eaten by the wolf. A tale rooted in lies
would be the basis of this terrible horror film. Cry Wolfhad to do with a group of college
students where they make a game which made it seem like someone was murdered and
more occur on campus. Well someone gets the idea to actually take their game seriously
and start murdering people and that guy is called, 'The Wolf'.65
2006 held many challenges for the Wolves as their oppression continues.
In February, the Wolf mass murderer Carter Niemeyer would retire from his position as
head of Wolf Recovery of the USFWS in Idaho. Those who tout themselves as Wolf
supporters but in fact support the slaughter of Wolves like UK Wolf Trust and Ralph
Maughan of the For Wolves Organization, heralded him as a hero and hoped he would
have a nice retirement.66
It wouldnt be long until Niemeyer would begin to work for
the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.67
This same month, another Wolf returns to Colorado.68
In March of 2006, the former Secretary of the Interior, Gale Norton, resigned her postamid scandals having to do with Native American Casinos. Gale Norton was always a
threat to Wolves, and to wildlife. In September of 2005 she pushed for Wolves to be
murdered in all livestock issues that involved Wolves after being persuaded by Governor
Dirk Kempthorne of Idaho to do so. Before she resigned her position she did some
startling things. She turned over management of Wolves over to the state of Idaho. Idaho
wasted no time murdering Wolves before they would create a management plan.69
Management plans only oppress, control, and murder Wolves since they are not allowed
to live freely like all life since humans are obsessed with controlling life.
In April of 2006, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game wanted to slaughter 43
Wolves. This is because they claimed that Wolves decimated elk populations. In addition

to these false allegations, they claimed to have scientific proof to these allegations.70
Fortunately many Americans and citizens around the world were not fooled by their
lies.71
The plan was aborted, but they continue along with the Idaho Wildlife Services,
led by Mark Collinge, to murder Wolves every week in Idaho.
This same month, Governor Dirk Kempthorne was nominated by President Bush to fillthe role of Secretary of the Interior. Thus Kempthorne would become Secretary of the
Interior. Kempthorne upon receiving nomination wanted to see Wolves slaughtered on
the Montana border claiming that they were decimating elk. Of course this was a lie and
an excuse to want to slaughter more Wolves.72
Before Norton left officially, she was
responsible for the murder of Wolves and proposed the idea of turning over Wolves in
the Great Lakes area to the Great Lakes States. This would come into fruition as the
USFWS and the Department of the Interior began to take comments in April on their
proposal to turn over the management of Wolves in the Great Lakes Region to the Great
Lakes States.
Alaska also expanded their aerial wolf culling operations this year. The AlaskanDepartment of Fish and Game had meetings on May 12-14 of 2006 to discuss a new
proposal called 122. It was a proposal to slaughter 75% of Wolves in the Fourtymile
Caribou herd range.73
Also in May of 2006, a zoo by the name of Highland Park in Scotland murdered a
Scandinavian Wolf pack through euthanization in order to replace them with another
pack. At first they said it was because of the management plan74
, and then they said it
was because the pack was having problems.75
Those who murder and commit acts of
horror commonly lie to justify just about anything they do
In late May of 2006, a section was added to Heart of the Wolf Organization calledHonor Fallen and Oppressed Wolves. It, inspired by Memorial Day and organizations
like Killed in Action, was created to honor all Wolves who were and still are oppressed
and murdered this very day.76
The Mexican Gray Wolf Recovery Program (started in 199877
) became a failure more
than ever in this same month when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on the behest of
the White Mountain Apache Reservation slaughtered a wolf pack and its pups despite
protest.78
It is a shocking revelation that anyone from any race, gender, or age can and
will support the murder and oppression and Wolves.

The populations of these Wolves hasnt not risen much at all because of the USFWS
slaughtering Wolves in livestock issues. And it has been going on for awhile. This is
because of many reasons. For one, cattle carcasses of those cows who die arent removed
from the land that they died on. This naturally attracts Wolves who are looking for food.
Second, the USFWS knows about Non-Lethal Methods Only and Predator Friendly
Ranching. And like the USFWS of the Gray Wolf Recovery Program, they donteducate, implement, or enforce these methods. They break the law by slaughtering
Wolves in livestock issues. This prevents wolf populations from growing and populating
their former land and creates more slaughter.79
This would happen more and more in
June80
and July of 200681
.
In June of 2006 another conservation group would follow the path of darkness. The
group, Center of Biological Diversity, supported the idea of murdering Wolves in
livestock issues once Mexican Gray Wolf populations are up to 100 Wolves.82
July of 2006, the film,Lady in the Waterby M. Night Shyamalan would be released. It
was another film that would portray Wolves as monsters. This film touted itself as a darkfairy tale.
83It follows the tales like Red Riding Hood and The Boy Who Cried Wolf,
The Three Little Pigs, and Peter and the Wolf, which continue to inspire fear and hate
of Wolves and leads to their deaths.
Early August of 2006, Defenders of Wildlife knew that a wolf pack was going to be
slaughtered by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Calls from the press were
ignored.84
Small wonder since last year Suzanne Stone of Defenders fully supported
along with Carter Niemeyer, the murder of Wolves in livestock issues.85
Canadas branch
of Defenders also supports the murdering of Wolves in livestock issues.86
And this month
they bragged that they were the ones responsible for the low voting turnout for Governor
Frank Murkowski. They forget that many activists, not just them, pure of heart, like LenaS., have been fighting for Wolves in Alaska. And voters in the end were responsible for
the turnout, not ego trips.
Also in August, Ed Bangs said that they have used these horrific methods since 1987 and
only 400 Wolves have been slaughtered.87
This is mathematically impossible. Wolves are
slaughtered in the area of about 10 a week in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. So if that
were ten Wolves murdered a week for a year, you would have at least 600 Wolves
slaughtered every year. So 17 years multiplied by 600 would be at least 10,200 Wolves.
Of course this is Ed Bangs we are talking about, who is a liar and murderer.

He lied in early August about the effectiveness and scientific proof of Non-Lethal
Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching. He met also with Carolyn Sime, Wolf
Management Coordinator for the State Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks in
Montana that same week.88
Because she too subscribes to these lies, she not a week later
after she met with him did she slaughter the Sleeping Child pack.89
Also in August Dough Smith, Wolf Biologist in an interview revealed his full support of
the eradication of Wolves near ranching properties.90
August 9th
of 2006, U.S. District Court Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly in Washington,
D.C. stopped the slaughter of Wolves in livestock issues. This is because she deemed the
practice unethical and hindering wolf populations. Already her decision has saved 10
Wolves from being slaughtered by Adrian Wydeven. He already is complaining about the
decision and wants Wolves to be murdered in livestock issues even after he knows that
Non-Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching work.91
In September of 2006, Defenders of Wildlife released a manual called,Places forWolves. Its a document that goes into what they think constitutes Wolf Recovery. They
claim to have always supported Non-Lethal Methods to this very day92
, which of course
is a lie. The creepiest part has to be that the opening page has a quote by the murderous
Ed Bangs93
, who is responsible for the same murders in livestock issues that Defenders
even denounces in their own manual94
. Since Defenders not only has supported the
murders of Wolves in livestock issues in Idaho but also in Canada95
, one should
definitely watch it with this group.

destruction of Wolves. It also is those who are greedy people that support themselves
only at the expense of Wolves. And often these people combat true honest activists and
when exposed, claim to be the victim.
Many fall into this category. Primarily it is the growing number of conservationists that
fall to corruption. Some consider the blacklisting of these sinister people in non-profitgroups akin to high school drama. But the problem is that non-profit groups need police
themselves as much as they police those who they consider evil.
Here are some listed below and their own misdeeds. Defenders of Wildlife and Center of
Biological Diversity, David Mech were highlighted above. but there are other groups and
people that are just as sinister.
In April 2005, the bookDecade of the Wolf by Doug Smith and Gary Ferguson was
released which heralded the murderers Ed Bangs, Carter Niemeyer, and Mike Jimenez as
heroes. The book was supported by false wolf activists who support the murder of
Wolves in livestock issues like Ralph Maughan, and the organization of Sinapu whichsupported a showing of the book.
96
Ralph Maughan is the creator of the organization For Wolves. He supports the U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service and thinks they are the heroes of Wolf Conservation (also indicated
by his over the top review ofDecade of the Wolf on Amazon.com). He personally
attended the retirement ceremony of Carter Niemeyer. He supports the murder of Wolves
in livestock issues and doesnt promote or support Non-Lethal Methods or Predator
Friendly Ranching like most conservation organizations. He also is a supporter of
murdering Wolves if it is scientifically proven to be helpful.97
Danna Cruzan of Wolf Mountain Sanctuary is another one of these people. She is moreinteresting in making money at the Wolves expense than supporting Wolves and those
who do. She is also a member of the site Care2.com, which is rife with people who are
corrupt. In March of 2006 she made false reports about this writer and again last month. I
had some of her pictures in my photo album on the Care2 network. I made a disclaimer
that clearly stated that the pictures in my photo album were the property of their original
owners and are copyrighted by them. She didnt care about that, she just wanted money
from the pictures. She waged a crusade to get me banned from Care2 and made
spamming posts at the group that I used to co-host, Wolf Tracks. Despite the initial
support I received from the group host Cindy Minde, and working hard to make Wolf
Tracks a driving force for Wolf conservation, she too would betray me by kicking me out
of Wolf Tracks. She would then re-instate Danna Cruzan AKA Angel Wolf as a co-director.
When I was being attacked last month on Care2.com by her supporters, and those who
were once loyal activists to Heart of the Wolf, I had to withdraw except for my groups96Decade Supporters97Idaho Gains full control over wolf management. Idaho Fish and Game Commission to plan killing

that I host and co-host on Care2. Upon meeting a confidential informant, I found out
really disturbing information about Wolf Mountain Sanctuary.
This informant, who once sponsored WMS, went to that sanctuary in 2002 and
discovered that they only had permits for 12 Wolves and actually had 20. They were in
hospital pens with cement floors. I was told from this informant that they saw threeWolves, Dakota and Segoni (brothers along with another wolf) crammed in a enclosure
that was 50 x 50. This source also mentioned that Dakota and Segoni looked desperate to
leave. I was also told that three Wolves died in these enclosures later on. Whether the
conditions still continue or not isn't the point. The fact that things were so bad in the past
caused my informant, who has lots of financial influence, to stop supporting this place.
There are many places like Gentle Jungle which claim to promote that they doing good
by having animals but instead treat them bad and solely are in it for the money, like
Danna Cruzan.
That same month I posted a picture exposing her misdeeds, but it was removed by the
Care2 network. They chose to believe her rather than myself. I was also banned frommany groups for my article exposing the false portrayal of Wolves inLady in the Water.
These were groups that I used to co-host, like Kucinski Wildlife Foundation and Philip
Clonas Save the Wolves Foundation.
Sinapu is not that different. Sinapu last year officially supported Mountain Lion hunting
in Colorado98
. In particular by Wendy Keefover-Ring. She in 2001 rejected to help the
Wolves while Sinapu was STILL a Wolf group. When I revealed in 2001 her declining to
help Wolves to the non profit sector and what that meant, I resigned my position as doing
data entry for the former director of Colorado Environment Coalition/Campus Green
Vote, Amy Livingston. This was because Livingston was opposed to the revealing of
such information and that impacted where I worked as date entry at that time.
Sinapu bullies and oppresses their own people in addition to those they work with. From
a confidential source, it was revealed to me that the original founder and director of
Sinapu, Michael Robinson, was ousted from his own group through a coup detat by the
current staff. As a result Michael Robinson went to the Center of Biological Diversity. At
the University of Colorado, they had a subsidiary group called CU Sinapu. A difference
in policy caused them to fight and Sinapu forced them to change their name. They
changed their groups name to CU Wildlife Initiative. But soon they were serving Sinapu
once again, like a dog to its master. This was evident by the fact that last year both
groups hosted an event at the University of Colorado which had the authors Jim and
Jamie Dutcher (Living With Wolves). At this event, I asked politely if I could pass outbrochures for Heart of the Wolf Organization. CU Wildlife Initiative was fearful of doing
this, but reluctantly agreed for a bit. They put my brochures in a small spot where you
could tell that no one would see it. I decided to set it in a section and print out a big sign
that definitely stated that my group had no relation to theirs. Sinapu hated this. In fact,
the director of Sinapu even told me this to my face. Out of disgust for the CU Wildlife

Initiative not taking initiative and becoming the loyal dog to its master rather than an
independent group, as well as Sinapu for opposing the peaceful promotion of another
wolf group, I left. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that it was the same time
that they supported mountain lion hunting and I confronted them about it.99
Sinapu celebrated the recent denying of delisting of Wolves in Wyoming thinking thatthe USFWS is doing ecologically minded work. They couldnt be more wrong. In fact the
only reason Wolves were not delisted was because they didnt want a plan that would
advocate wholesale slaughter. If Sinapu acts like this and supports Mountain Lion
hunting, when Wolves are possibly delisted someday, the Wolves will be next on their
target sight.100
Sierra Club, one of the most famous non-profit organizations in the world,
supports hunting too.101
Their higher level administrative staff have hunting trips and are
active hunters.102
In fact, the former President of the Sierra Club, Paul Watson, resigned
because of this fact.103
Wolves Ontario tends to jump back and forth on their ideology. They claim to support
Non-Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching104
in addition to banning of huntingand other practices in certain spots of Ontario. But on the other hand, their language is
often tricky and they only see the Wolves salvation in Ontario to be only through a
management plan and limited hunting.105
As much sadness and corruption that has been haunting the wolf and its supporters, here
are some things to celebrate and be happy about. And that is the ever growing of positive
reinforcement of Wolves in popular culture.

Werewolf the Apocalypse
(Cover of Werewolf the Apocalypse 2ndEdition) 1994 White Wolf
Years later in 1991, the legendary series Werewolf the Apocalypsepremiered by the
company White Wolf. It was an RPG (role playing game) series that had novels and an
ongoing storyline. For the first time it portrayed Werewolves as not just good guys, but
complex creatures that were born from nature and were sworn to defend not just it, but
fight for humanity and the entire world. These Werewolves had to stop the Apocalypse
(the end of the world) from occurring. This series was created by Mark Rein-Hagen.111
Bill Bridges soon directed the series. And Ethan Skemp was in charge of the series from
1997112
until its climatic finish.113
It was a ground breaking series since it had a
supplement called Ways of the Wolf, which specifically went into detail about Wolves.
This book talked about their pack structure, ways of thinking and more.114
It was revolutionary for a game series and book series as well. Taking from many human
cultures around the world, there were wolf spirits115
, the First Wolf Spirit116
, and spirits
that took a new spin on human culture such as a heroic Fenris from Norse Mythology.117

Megaman 7
(left: Treble, right: Bass) 1995 Capcom
Megaman was a series that was created by Capcom about the heroic robot Mega Man and
his robotic dog companion Rush, who must fight against the evil Dr. Wily and his robots.
In 1995, the 7th
installment to theMegamanseries by Capcom introduced two new
characters, Bass and Treble (known as Forte and Gospel in Japan). Both of these highly
intelligent robots, were created by Dr. Wily. Bass was neither good or evil, and he was
interested in becoming the most powerful robot in existence.119
Bass had a big respect for
humans since they created robots. And he rebelled against Wily quite often.120Treble, a
wolf robot, was his companion much like how the robotic Rush (a robot dog) was Mega
Mans companion.121
Treble was loyal to Bass and fought with him in many battles.

(Sait Hajime using the power of thewolf to fight Shishio Makoto) 2001 Anime Works
This landmark series from Japan which was a successful graphic novel series created byWatsuki Nobuhiro soon came to Japanese television in 1996 and the U.S. in 2000.
Rurouni Kenshinwas about a wanderer by the name Kenshin Himura who in 1878 finally
stops wandering and fights many battles to save Japan and against corruption wherever
he finds it.122
The second part of the series is called the Kyoto Arc since it largely takes
place in the former capital of Japan, which is Kyoto. At the beginning of this arc, he has
flashbacks about his experiences with the Shinesengumi and with a former member
Shinsengumi Captain, Sait Hajime. Kenshin and Sait join forces as allies (but become
friends later) to stop Shishio Makoto (a madman swordsman), who wanted to rule Japan.
The Shinsengumi were called The Wolves of Mibu. Kenshin talks about how they were
ferocious in battle. How they were loyal and brave and that they dedicated their lives to
the destruction of evil and protecting the innocent as well as upholding the laws inKyoto.
123
And this is why one of the reasons why they were called the Wolves of Mibu.
The Shinsengumi were a real life group and were the last Samurai Corps. At first they
were called the Wolves of Mibu among other names, as a derogatory term. But their
bravery, courage and battle prowess made the Wolf adage soon became one of adulation
and respect rather than disdain. They were formed in 1863, and were in charge of keeping
the peace in Kyoto and taking out corruption where ever it was. Although they were
defeated by the new Imperial government in 1868, there were survivors and they brought
to light the truth about the Shinsengumi. Soon their honor and reputation were once againrestored. The resurgence of them in pop culture thanks toRurouni Kenshinspawned

Beast Wars: Transformers and Beast Wars: Beast Machines
Beast Wars: Transformerspremiered on TV in the U.S. in 1996, and was the sequelseries to the popular Transformersseries. This series was about the heroic Maximals and
the villainous Predacons who accidentally travel back in time and crash on prehistoric
Earth. Instead of becoming robots that could transform into vehicles or weapons of
overwhelming power, these robots transformations were based on ancient animals and
dinosaurs.124
In the second season ofBeast Wars, which came out in the fall of 1997, the character
Silverbolt was introduced. This character could transform into a creature that was
combination of a wolf and an eagle. Although he had a personality that was funny and
goofy, he was a powerful warrior whose knight-like personality shown through. Like a
wolf, he was strong and loyal to his teammates, and fought hard in the Beast Wars (thewar which was the Maximals vs. The Predacons).

In 1999 the sequel toBeast Warspremiered on TV, which was named Beast Wars: Beast
Machines. It was about the Maximals returning to a Cybertron where the leader of the
Predacons, Megatron, has taken control. This series reached a level of interestingcontroversy since the Maximals at first thought the battle was about Nature vs.
Technology, but it soon became the battle of Nature co-existing with Technology.
Another shocking revelation was that their home planet Cybertron, was once an Earth-

like planet before the creators and slave owners of the original Transformers, called the
Quintessons, severely industrialized their home planet.
Silverbolt in this series, had his soul stolen by Megatron and thrown into a body with an
evil personality. He is freed by his lover Black Arachnia, and resumes the battle to fight
Megatron in a new body. However a new wolf also takes part in the war againstMegatron.
In the second season, the character Noble appeared.

Noble was a highly intelligent Wolf humanoid Transformer. He like his namesake and
representative of the wolf, was a noble character. Megatron, not having a body at the end
of the first season used his soul to attempt to fully take over Nobles body and soul as
well. Soon after this, Megatrons soul leaves Nobles body. Noble leaves, but soon
returns in later episodes to once again help the Maximals fight against Megatron. Once
again retaining his name sake and that of the wolf, he sacrifices his life to stop
Megatrons plan of killing his friends by stealing their souls.127

mercenary Solid Snake who had to stop a group of terrorists from waging war on the
world. A complex game of a complex proportions as it isnt the terrorists that are the real
threat, but a sinister consortium that threatens to rule the entire planet. This series has
many issues, from nuclear bombings, to environmental conservation and more have made
this series a landmark for games and entertainment alike.
(Sniper Wolf with Wolf-Dog Concept Art) 2004 Konami
One of the terrorists in the game, Sniper Wolf, was an expert sniper who was a Kurd. She
in her past had to endure the horrors of war as a child when the U.S. left the Middle East
after the Gulf War. Her name for one since she is a Kurd is also reflected because of her
connection with the Wolf-dogs on the Alaskan base where her organization, Fox-Hound,conducted its last operation. She saved the Wolf-dogs from being killed by her own
organization.
Battling Solid Snake, she lost and having suffered so much in life, she find solace
knowing that she was going to die. She felt that in waging vengeance for the horrible past
she endured, she lost the title of being a Wolf. Solid Snake comforts and lets her that she
is a Wolf. A being that is loyal, proud and independent as well as honorable. Especially
since she spared the life of Solid Snakes parter, Meryl. He also told her how Wolves are
noble animals, and that many cultures have positive regard for Wolves though language
and ideas. Such as how with the Yupik, the word for wolf is "Kegluneq", and how the
Aleuts revere them as honorable cousins. Solid Snake before Sniper Wolf died, told hershe would die as the proud Wolf that she is.
128
In the remake of this classic game in 2004, calledMetal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakesfor
the Nintendo Gamecube, several scenes were added. When Sniper Wolf dies, her wolf-
dog friends howl after her passing. And in the credits where real life locations of animals

(left: San the Wolf Princess, right: Moro the Wolf Goddess) 2000Miramax
Princess Mononoke is a powerful film by Miyazaki Hayao which was released in Japan
in 1997, and in the U.S. in 1999. It is about a tribal villager Ashitaka in ancient Japan
who is attacked by a Boar God who is possessed by demons. After defeating it and
getting infected himself by the demon, he must figure why nature and its gods are being
taken over by demons. He also must find out how to cure himself before he dies.
This film shows the trials and tribulations of both the humans and nature. Both ultimately
must put their differences aside to stop the demons and restore peace to the land. The
films other protagonist San, who is a Wolf Princess (hence the films name). She was
raised by the Wolf Goddess Moro, who considers her a daughter.
The film takes much influence from Shinto mythology and confronts the issue head on
about how nature will cease to exist and so will all life if humans continue to destroy
nature.130

governments of the world that use their people in vicious experiments.131
In 1999, they had an X-Files episode called Alpha. It was about man, Dr. Detweiler, who
obtained an evil spirit that would transform him into a Werewolf. Fox Mulder was
contacted by a Wolf activist to help stop the man. Mulder tells Scully in the episode thatthe activist, Karin Berquist knows much in the area about Wolves and Wolf behavior,
that she lived with wild canids and Wolves in the wilderness of five different continents.
When they meet Karin, she tells them that canids have a higher intelligence than humans
and that although they are smarter, that murder is something that is of human behavior
since it requires no intelligence.
Later in the episode Karin reveals to Scully that she has the deadly disease called lupus.
She tells her its ironic considering the latin name for the Gray Wolf is Cainus Lupus.
Karins love for Wolves is why she also protected the rare canine that was transported to
the U.S., but when she found out that it was an entity that took over Detweiler and madehim into a monster did she want to see him defeated. Karin sacrifices her life to defeat the
monster and save many innocent lives.
Although she didnt have time to express her feelings openly, she felt a connection to
Mulder of kinship and as a result, left a memento for him before the time of her
sacrifice.132

(Wolverine running with the Wolves on a hunt for food) 2002 Marvel Comics
In 2001, the origin of Wolverine was finally revealed. Wolverine AKA James Howlett, is
a character from Marvel Comics. In particular, he is what is called a Mutant, an evolved
human that has extraordinary powers. Wolverine abilities make him like an animal, since
he has claws, heightened senses of smell and hearing, and super healing. He also had
amnesia due to experiments that were done to him for many years.
His origin centered around him being born to a upper class family in Canada. The
workers who did maintenance to his familys residence attacked and killed his dog and
soon his father. Forced to flee to another part of Canada after Wolverine defeated his
pets and fathers attackers (and after his mothers suicide), his closest friend Rose helps
him try to live a new life. Wolverine soon develops ties to the wilderness and spends time
with Wolves and even hunts with them. When old foes years later destroy the life he
worked so hard to build, he decides to leave humanity behind for many years and is seen
living with the Wolves once again. This is reminiscent of theJulie and the Wolves
Trilogyby Jean Craighead George where the character Julie Edwards Miyax Kapugen, flees her village to live and learn from a pack of Wolves.
The graphic novel of Wolverine: Originwas released in 2002133
and is being republished
with extra material in October of this year.

It is interesting to note that in the filmX-Men 2: X-Men United, Wolverine searches for
the base that performed the experiments and torture on him in Canada. In this search he
encounters a white wolf. It looks at him for a little bit and leaves. The camera not too
long after this shows a wolf in a diorama that is defending itself against two neanderthals
with clubs.134
It represents the oppressed having to defend itself from humans that hate
them, even that far back in time. In fact it is said that in real life, the early humans wipedout mammoths.

Wolfs Rain
(from left to right: Hige, Kiba, Cheza, Tsume,Toboe) 2006 Bandai
In 2003 on Japanese television, the wonderful series called Wolfs Rainpremiered. It was
a series that took place in the future. A future where Wolves are extinct and the world is
on the verge of Armageddon. When the end of the world is near, the gates to Paradise
(Rakuen) open and only those worthy can enter it to survive. The catch is that only
Wolves can enter it.
There are only 4 Wolves known to be left on the planet: Kiba, the fearless leader who
was once raised by Native Americans, Tsume, a former leader of a gang that was
opposed to the Nobles (the current power structure that rules Earth), Hige, a teenage wolf
who has learned to adapt to humans, and Toboe, a kid wolf who loves both humans and

Wolves and is learning about the harsh world that fears and hates his kind. These Wolves
also had to ability to make themselves appear as human in front of other Humans.
These last 4 Wolves on the planet had to make a challenging journey to enter Rakuen,
and survive the harsh journey that awaited them. Some survived, some did not, and the
series came to climatic finish.136
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4 was released in January of 2005 for Gamecube in the U.S. and re-
released for the Playstation 2 in October of 2005. It was another great chapter in the
survival horror series created by Mikami Shinji. This game is about a U.S. Government
agent Leon Kennedy who must travel to a monster ridden village in Europe to rescue the
Presidents daughter. A survivor of the zombie ridden Raccoon City, he learns things are
more than meets the eye in this tale. Along the way he encounters a wolf that is caught in
a bear trap. At this point in the game, you have to option of freeing the wolf.
(Wolf caught in bear trap) 2005Gamespot and Capcom
If the player frees the wolf, the wolf runs off but returns later to help the player fight
against a huge monster that is out to kill you. This wolf is the lucky one to not be infected
by the parastic monsters that the village rulers created. The parasite infects everyone,
including Wolves on the country side and makes them transform into monsters under the
control of the village leaders.137
This is much like how humans infected Wolves with
mange.

Werewolf the Forsaken
(Werewolf the Forsaken Main Book Cover) 2005 WhiteWolf
In March of 2005, the long awaited non-direct sequel series to Werewolf the Apocalypse
was released. This series, Werewolf the Forsaken, created and directed by Ethan Skemp,is about how the world was created by Father Wolf, and while he was around, things
were in balance. However, Father Wolf grew weaker over time and was about to die. He
made a controversial decision in asking his progeny, wereWolves to destroy him.
His kin did what he asked, but many were shocked and horrified at what they did and
branded them traitors. These Werewolves became known as the Forsaken. Fast forward
to today, and the Forsaken are still trying to fulfill the duty of balancing the world the

way Father Wolf intended. But they must face the constant threat of the Pure. The Pure
are Werewolves who still hunt the Forsaken for the crimes they believe the Forsaken
committed. The Pure are nothing short of racist, genocidal maniacs. And that isnt the
least of the Forsakens worries. Sinister spirits of unimaginable power that threaten both
sides are plotting the destruction of them all. The battle for survival and restoring things
to balance has just begun.
This not only is the second major series that highlighted wolf spirits in pop culture, but
the first to say that it was a Wolf god that created the world. Wolf spirits are predominant
in the series, since all the tribes of Werewolves are represented by wolf spirits. Even the
wolf from Norse mythology, Fenris, is once again back and a protagonist.138
Much like Werewolf the Apocalypse, Forsaken has a book calledBlood of the Wolf,
which was released in November of 2005.Blood of the Wolf, too talks about Wolf
biology, behavior and even tips for real life on how to safely explore the woods.139
The book Territories, which was released in April of 2006, focuses on various places thatare primary territories for the Forsaken. Under the topic of wilderness, it mentions the
conflict that has engulfed some places because of landowners, the USFWS and how the
wilderness suffers because of it. It talks about how landowners dont like dealing with the
USFWS, and how the USFWS heads will issue heinous orders that target denizens of the
wild. .140
This totally fits the model on how most ranchers in Wolf Territory dont like
dealing with the ineffective USFWS. It also fits on how most ranchers want all Wolves
dead on their land. Its also true how the heads of the USFWS in these areas and other
wildlife agencies issue murder orders on Wolves. The USFWS doesnt do much to solve
conflicts regarding Wolves and livestock, but just end up creating more and slaughter
wherever they go instead of using Non-Lethal Methods and Predator Friendly Ranching.

In issue 147 that came out in 2005, Spawn has his memories and powers taken from him
by the evil Mammon. Wandering aimlessly, he nearly dies in Minnesota where he is
rescued by a mysterious family that appears to be of a Victorian sort. The family
mysteriously disappears after they warn Spawn that a big threat plans to kill them. What
he doesnt realize is that that family are Wolves that have the magical power to alter their
appearance as well as their surroundings. Spawn goes outside the shed he was found in,
and encounters the Wolves. Thinking they are the threat, he begins to do battle with
them. He had no idea that it isnt them that are the threat to the family but it is the
hunters. The hunters in the issue were a group of people that wanted to exterminate allWolves. Even one of the hunters even abused his wife. The hunters interrupt the fight and
Spawn attempts to protect them, yet one of the hunters shoots him. Spawn defeats the
hunters and the Wolves have vanished.
Spawn leaves the area to continue the journey to reclaim his memories, and the eldest
Wolf narrates the rest of the issue by saying that because of this big fight, no hunter or
human has returned to the area. She truly hopes that Spawn will recover his memories
and hopes he will survive that journey.143

but he meets a powerful friend of Cheveyos, a Wolfspawn by the name of Mangee. This
powerful creature is a Wolf that can transform into a humanoid Wolf. Mangee helps
Kurosawa in some major battles.145
It is interesting to note that Mangees name is a
derivative of the word Mange, the disease that was used to infect and murder many
Wolves. A disease that Wolves still infects Wolves this very day.146

THE FUTURE?
Although the future is something that cannot be determined easily, the struggle for
humans to finally accept Wolves and live with them peacefully is a future that will only
come with a mass consciousness to preserve them and treat them as they would treat
themselves, with love and respect. Wolves are hunted by hunters in many parts of the
world and their fur coats are sold on Ebay as well as other places. Humans in government

agencies continue to oppress them, by collaring them weekly and murdering them in
livestock depredation issues, instead of using proven Non-Lethal Methods and Predator
Friendly Ranching Practices. Ranchers still hate and fear the Wolf and want them
slaughtered wholesale to protect their cattle for a human populace that is rife with over-
active consumers. And former conservationists who claim to support Wolves, sell them
out, like UK Wolf Trust and David Mech, to have them murdered, and even waste timeby attacking decent activists in the guise of conservation for the whole sake of wanting to
win. And some like the Sierra Club and Sinapu already support hunting of species, so
when the Wolf is ever delisted in the United States, they may be a target for conservation
groups to be destroyed. With the Wolves beset by many sides who think they know what
is best for them and continue to oppress and slaughter them, the future doesnt look
bright. But where there is possibility, that is what hope is for and that maybe one day,
humans can live peacefully with Wolves and all can be one. Until that time, activists and
even those who arent activists must fight for peace and ensure that this peace occurs.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Heart of the Wolf Organization is dedicated to the Wolves. A group dedicated to
educating the populace about Wolves though articles, and dedicated to producing
the latest action alerts to help the Wolves. In particular, the goal of Heart of the Wolf is to
get humans to live with Wolves peacefully.
