Family Lifestyle 1LOCHAVEN
Lochaven harks back to a simpler time.
When home life was optimistic and uncluttered,
the neighbourhood felt like a village not a suburb.
When parks were places for family picnics and play,
and residents shared quality lives along
quiet, leafy streets.
It takes a village to raise a family
3LOCHAVEN
Lochaven pays tribute to the memory of village life.
Its welcoming air is inspired by the ageless values of family
and community alongside an appreciation for heritage,
nature and contemporary convenience.
Lochaven has an engaging sense of space and light.
Established trees shade spacious blocks and streetscapes are
fringed by sustainably landscaped parkland and waterways.
Sophisticated urban design invites you outside and
encourages you to join in. Streetscapes are on an intimate
scale with young families in mind. That means bicycle-friendly
streets with few cars, wide verges and every home within
one minute of green open space.
A village life for an urban existence

15LOCHAVENSense of Place
Being local means more in Lochaven. It means belonging.
Lochaven’s sense of place gets stronger as you settle in,
as you make friends, and as your children grow up together.
Lochaven embraces everything you need for
an exceptional lifestyle. Generous block sizes
and an abundance of amenities, parks and
waterways make it fertile ground to establish
roots for generations to come.
Every home is the best address
Heritage
The land on which Lochaven is built belonged to three
generations of the McNab family, who farmed here for
100 years. As the land transitions from its farming heritage
to a new residential community, Dacland came to know
Laurie McNab and his sister Val, and enjoyed their many
stories about growing up here.
As with all our communities, we listen to the history
of the land and work with its natural features to create
a legacy for future generations.
To acknowledge and honour the family’s Scottish beginnings,
Dacland incorporated the McNab family tartan into the design
of Lochaven, in its streetscapes and parks. The colours are
referenced in Lochaven’s logo and branding, and the
McNab family history will be incorporated in Lochaven’s
street names and landmarks.
A future built on heritage
LOCHAVEN 17
We have tried to take one family’s generational ownership of this land and translate
that history into the Lochaven community for the future. This deepens the sense of
place that future Lochaven residents will feel as they too come to call this land home,
and where they too will create family histories to be treasured and shared.
