Hey Justin! Can you believe this weather we are having? It is absolutely awful.

Hi Sara! This is the worst rain we have had in a long time. Why do you think that is?

Well Justin, I have been watching the news and the weatherman is saying that this awfulweather is being caused by a hurricane . He also said that our area in Pennsylvania is notgetting as bad of weather as other parts of the country like New Jersey, West Virginia, and Virginia. I heard that some parts of West Virginia have over two feet of snow ! NewYork City is currently experiencing a blackout, and many cities along the coast are underwater! I went to the store to get a few things and you should have seen it! The entirewater section was sold out along with flashlights! There were people buying things inorder to prepare for the storm. Ive never seen anything like it!

Oh no! I hope that we dont get the bad part of thehurricane!

Its okay, we are far enough away that we probably wontget bad aftermath. But it is always a good idea to beprepared for these events. In case of a natural disaster suchas a flood, tornado, earthquake, or hurricane, it is alwaysbest to be safe rather than sorry. It is recommended that youprepare by having enough water, food, and supplies in caseof power outages or gas shortages. You should always havean emergency supply kit that also contains items such asmedical supplies, batteries, a flashlight , and other usefultools in case the unexpected happens. Having an emergency supply kit and flashlight isalso recommended to have in your car. I happen to have those items in my car right now!

So do I! I also have a blanket and an extra pair of shoes in my car in case I get stranded!

Like I said Justin, my parents always say better safe than sorry! Being prepared isalways best in times like these. Stay dry, Justin!

    You too, Sara!
