Working Group I Seismic Imaging of the Crust and Mantle -- USArray/ChinArray Comparative Studies Co-Chairs: Rob van der Hilst and John Chen 1.Data. Focus of most collaborative research will be portable arrays installed by US or Chinese scientists. Open data access is good, but beyond our control. Collaborations can go forward (at least initially) with data shared informally, on a case by case basis. Stress the importance of continuous data archival and QC from the outset. A monolithic data center may not be needed. But standardized formats and ability to exchange data are necessary. PASSCAL model helpful: data sent to the DMC during the experiment and password protected for a period. Develop focused, high profile collaborative research data bases (CDs) to

1. Data.• Focus of most collaborative research will be portable arrays installed by US
