Illustrations
PowerPoint allows you to create and insert a variety of illustrations to help you emphasize your message.
Today we will look at the 3 categories and play around with inserting these.
Shapes
There are many shapes you can use in PPT to highlight portions of your presentation or just add a nice feel.Have a look at the shapes below, these are just a sample of what’s available.
SmartArt
SmartArt is an excellent tool when you are wanting to illustrate a process or a step-by-step procedure.

Today’s Task
Today you will be using a variety of illustrations to create 3 unique PowerPoint presentations.
The following slides contain information for each presentation.
Have fun! And remember, if you aren’t, just fake it
Shapes
Your task with shapes is to draw on the map of Hepburn. You need to place a red star where the schoolis and a blue star where the museum is.
Then, you need to connect the two stars with a series of yellow block arrows.
This presentation needs to be two slides in length. Slide one needs to be your title slide.
**Use the map on this slide in your presentation. Just copy and paste it into your slide.
See next slide for an example
Need Timmies?
The map here shows how to get from Valley Manor Elementary School in Martensville to the local Tim Horton’s.
SmartArt
For this task you will create a two slide presentation that illustrates the cycle a typical grade 10 follows in a day.
Wake up
Breakfast
Cleaned up and dressed for day
Walk/Drive/Ride Bus to school
Go to classes
Have lunch
Finish school
Chores/homeworkRelax, etc.
Supper

Chart
For this two slide task you need to create a chart that shows at least 5 pieces of data.
For example, you could create a fictitious survey that shows the results of a group asked about their favourite car, ice cream, colour, movie, book, animal, etc.
This can be displayed in the chart of your choice.
(See next slide for example)
