Pulse Health Screening offers aunique health and wellbeingservice to small and mediumsized companies of one to 100employees, within a 25-mileradius of Bedford, UK.

All health screening services offered byPulse Health Screening are tax deductibleand exempt from V.A.T.

Our unique health and wellbeingpackage offers a personalised serviceby a Registered Nurse with anemphasis on health promotion anddisease prevention.

The health checks provide each employeewith a risk assessment of their currenthealth and fitness status, using the latestmedical devices.

Each employee receives a comprehensivebooklet with individual diet and lifestylerecommendations and a record of theirtest results. In the event that anemployee’s test result indicates furtherinvestigation, such as a raised bloodpressure reading, they are provided with aletter to take to their General Practitioner.

Each employee is given a contact numberfor the screening nurse should they needto discuss their assessment later.

The health check takes approximately 15 - 20minutes per person and includes:

Employee Health and WellnessFollow-Up Check

The follow-up health check is recommended sixmonths to one year after the first check to assessany improvement or deterioration in theemployee’s health. It includes the samemeasurements of health as before. The nursediscusses any changes and provides further dietand lifestyle advice.

We offer a choice of two health and wellnesschecks for you and your key staff. The first isthe Cardiovascular Health Check, whichtakes 30 to 40 minutes and the second is themore detailed General Health Check, whichtakes one and a half hours.

If you rely on your employees to usetheir car or a company vehicle aspart of their job, you have a legalduty of care to ensure they are fit todrive. This is especially important ifthey drive to meetings withcolleagues or to make deliveries ofproducts. These drivers are knownas the Grey Fleet.

Employees who regularly drive aspart of their job do not have toundergo the medicals required byHGV drivers. Nevertheless, it maybe prudent to offer a Drivers Healthand Wellbeing Check to theemployees who regularly drive foryour company.

Each consultation takes around halfan hour and consists of a relevanthealth questionnaire, the samehealth measurements as theEmployee Health and WellnessCheck plus a urine test and arespiratory health test.

Drivers Health Check Breast Health Check

With Breast Cancer rates rising in the UK and nowaffecting younger, employment-age women, aBreast Health Check may be a service that yourfemale employees would find helpful.

Each consultation takes around half an hour perperson and consists of a questionnaire about breasthealth and significant medical and family history toascertain breast cancer risk, a demonstration of howto check for a breast lump using a breast model, plusdiet and lifestyle advice that may help reduce breastcancer risk.

The Breast Health Check may also be included aspart of a Health Awareness Day at your companypremises, which includes a lunch time talk to staffabout breast health. See next page for details aboutthe talk entitled “How to Keep Your Breast Healthy”.

HEALTH TALKTOPICS

Our health and wellbeingpackage also includes practicaltalks about common healthissues. These are aimed athelping the staff to understandwhy certain lifestyle practicescan lead to chronic conditionssuch as heart disease anddiabetes, and how makingsimple changes maysignificantly improve their long-

term health at home as well asat work.

The talks can be included aspart of a company Risk orHealth Awareness event inconjunction with other providersor they can be offered to staffduring their lunch break. Ahealthy buffet lunch can also beprovided for an additional fee.

Health Promotion Talks

We hear so many conflictingviews in the media on what weshould and should not eat.The talk is based on a numberof highly regarded studies andarticles which should help toremove some of the confusion.

This talk provides anexplanation about heartdisease, common risk factorsand how we can reduce ourrisk through simple lifestylemeasures.

This talk provides anexplanation of the differenttypes of breast cancer,common risk factors and up-to-date information on stepswe can take to reduce our risk.

This talk explains thedifference between an allergyand an intolerance and givesexamples of the mostcommon foods which areresponsible. It includesinformation on how to identifyand reduce symptoms of anintolerance.

This talk provides informationon a variety of health issuesaffecting everyone living in the21st Century.  It encouragesthe audience to take moreresponsibility for their ownhealth in order to avoid manyof the degenerative diseasesso prevalent today.

This talk covers many of thehealth issues affecting womenof today including BreastCancer, the Menopause,Osteoporosis and more.

Additional Services

Additional services can also be offered, through our alliance withother health and wellbeing companies, to enhance our overallpackage. These include Breast Screening using Thermal Imaging,Smoking Cessation, Fitness and Exercise programmes and Seminarson Nutrition and Healthy Living.

Between 10% and 15% of participants in smokingcessation programmes succeeded in giving upsmoking. 26% of participants in programmes onweight control were able to maintain their weight 12months after the programme had finished.
