• Na0onal CommiTee for Disaster Management (NCDM) – Coordinate the emergency management – Promote the development of na0onal legisla0on and policy for emergency management;
– Promote the development of plans and procedures for emergency management;
– Strengthen ins0tu0onal and human resources – Promote the development of programs for public educa0on, public awareness and community par0cipa0on in emergency management and,
– To promote the collec0on, analysis, and dissemina0on of informa0on related to emergencies and disasters.

• Disaster management informa0on system (DMIS), supported by UNDP
• Database of CamDi (DMIS) is linked to NCDM website -‐ hTp://www.ncdm.gov.kh
• The CamDi online disaster damage and loss database is accessible to all

Early Warning Systems
• Weather Forecast – 14 synop0c sta0ons through telephone and radio transmission
– The forecast is announced 24 hours a day. • Flood Forecas0ng/Predic0on – There 72 rain sta0ons (10 with data loggers)

Conclusion
• Cambodia is one of the most disaster-‐prone countries in Asia, with floods and drought the primary natural hazards to affect the country
• Government Structure for Disaster Management is well organized
• Significant progress in the development of telecoms infrastructure and policy
• The role of ICTs for Disaster Risk Management must be strengthened
