WORKSHOPS

For the students of ME,a two day workshop on "ANDROIDPROGRAMMING" was governed by the faculties ofcomputer department,Mr. Nitin Patel and Mr. Purvik Rana.The students were benefited to a great extent becauseconcepts like development environment setup,architectures, Intent, Activity, Services, BroadcastReceiver, Fragments, Web View, Telephony andMessaging, Media Player, Sensors, SQLite Databasewere covered through out 18th & 19th September. It wasa day filled with knowledge for the students.

Considering the scare number of developers for thewindows platform, a workshop was organized by theComputer Department on 25th September. Mr. RaunaqPatel from Softmynd Designs, Vadodara who governedthe workshop for the students of third & last year, provedto be a great benefactor as he imparted in depthcognizance regarding how to develop an application forwindows phone. Also, an awareness was created todevelop interest in this field as the demand for windowsdevelopers is increasing.

● Information & Technology- Parents meet was conducted on26th Sept 2015 on Saturday in the Seminar Hall of InformationTechnology Department. 41 persons attended this meet. Fewof the key points that were discussed are Infrastructuredevelopment – laboratories, Training & Placement of thestudents, Student Benefit Schemes (Co-curricular activities),Regular Attendance Monitoring & Feedback. Even commentsfrom parents were noted and well appreciated. Mr. Amit I.Chaudhari and Ms.Vibhavari Patel were the coordinators forthe meet.

Expert Talk on “An Insight of DCS” was jointly organized by ISA Students’ Chapter & Instrumentation& Control Engineering department of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute Technology, Vasad on10�� September, 2015. ISA Students’ chapter is the part of global professional society viz. InternationalSociety for Automation having head office at US and having over 45,000 members spread in all countries.

Mr. C.K.Shah, Ex. Senior Manager, Deepak Nitrate Ltd., Nandesari gives expert lecture. There were about100 candidates from Third Year and Last Year students as well as faculties from IC Department. Fromthis expert talk students know about Introduction and Understanding of Hardware & software of DCS,Various industrial applications & Manufacturers of DCS.

INFORMATION & TECHNOLOGY

I.T Department, had organized a one day seminar on “Cyber Crimeand Cyber Laws” on September 10, 2015 which was coordinated byProf. Jay Mehta. 275 participants, including professors of all depart-ments had a tremendous experience of cyber crimes and cyber lawsof Indian government IT act, 2000. The expert Mr. Manan Thakker(Advocate) who is an excellent cyber lawyer and cyber securityadvisor in high court Gandhinagar was invited to deliver a talkthroughout the day.

court Gandhinagar was invited to deliver a talk throughout the day. The introductory speech was given byProf. Jay Mehta. He introduced the expert of the seminar by elaborating the significance of Cyber Empire insociety.At last, Proff. Nisha V. Shah, head of the IT department, thanked Mr. Manan Thakker with the memorablememento as a token of gratitude.

SEMINARSCYBER CRIME AND CYBER LAW

RESEARCH PAPER WRITING & PATENT DRAFTING EXERCISE

Civil Department had arranged a seminar onPatent Drafting Methodology for it’s students on9th of September in EDC hall. Dr S P Dalal servedas orator.

An in-house workshop on "How to write aresearch paper" by Dr K.R. Bhatt was organizedon 31st July for the students of 3rd semester ofME. The nitty gritties involved in writing a researchpaper were explained in depth.

RECENT FEEDElectronics & communication -Students of M.E. Class 2 gave FTKT on29th september.

Mechanical - Conducted online FTKTexam on 1st October for L.Y students andcollected online feedback aboutrespected faculties.

Prof. Sneha Gaywala presented a Patent DraftingPresentation for IT M.E sem-3 students on 30th

September & Research Paper Presentation forT.Y and M.E semester 1 was held on 3rd Octoberby Prof. Sneha Gaywala respectively.

Information & Technology - OpenBook Test for L.Y and T.Y wereconducted on 3rd and 6th Octoberrespectively.

INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROLIC department had organized an industrial visit to ‘Center of Excellence’ - Institute of Infrastructure,Technology, Research and Management (IITRAM) on 30�� September, 2015. Total 27 students of LY IC aswell as 3 Staff members were benefited by this visit. Ms. Aanal Shah and other supporting staff membersof IITRAM, took keen interest in proper arrangement of all the students. The hospitality provided by theinstitute was much appreciated. The Center of Excellence contains mainly 9 advance laboratories.Students got awareness regarding how automation is developed with advance technology andinstrumentation.

The students could get the knowledge regarding various field instruments like sensors, transmitters,etc., Electrical components like breakers, relays, drives, switches etc, process automation with PLC, HMIas well as SCADA. Siemens S7 300 and 1200 series PLC kits are used for automation. They divided thestudents in two batches for institute visit.

AERONAUTICAL

There was an industrial visit organized for T.Y andL.Y students at EME School, Vadodara onSeptember 2015. Students had visited thefollowing three faculties: (1) Faculty of WeaponTechnology (2) Faculty of InstrumentationTechnology (3) Faculty of Vehicle Technology

Industrial visit for L.Y students was organized atGlobal Blade Technology, Manjusar, GIDC,Vadodara on 8�� October 2015.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Instrumentationand ControlDepartment hasorganized openbook test for TYIC students. On26�� September,2015. Total 17students wereappeared in theexam.

FTKT TESTINSTRUMENTATION & CONTROL

I & C department has organised FTKTtest for TY & LY IC students on 3rd

October, 2015. This test covers all thesubjects .

Mistry Ritu of T.YA e r o n a u t i c a lengineering has beenawarded as the “Bestplayer of thetournament” in GTUZonal Kabbaditournament held inOctober 2015. Shewas also the captain ofthe champion team.

AERONAUTICAL

Ashok Tank, student of T.Y Aeronautical Engineering has beenawarded under National Cadet Corps IGC 1 camp at Bhavnagarin the following categories:

0.22 Rifle Shooting – Silver Medal

Flying – Gold Medal

Drill – Gold Medal

Skit Shooting – Gold Medal

He is also selected to represent Gujarat Directorate in AIVSC (AllIndia Vayu Sena Camp) held in Rajasthan.

Yogi Patel from LY IC hasparticipated in Basket balland was runners up atVallabh Vidyanagar Zonelevel.
