QUESTIONS ABOUT PHYSICIAN DENSITY

1. What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that this country has the highest amount?Germany has the largest column. I think that it is like that because they are a developed country and they usually have a lot of doctors in their country.

2. What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount?Zambia has the lowest one. They have such a low physician density because they are a poor country so they do not have as many doctors.

3. Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. Both China and Brazil are developing. I think they are 5th and 6th because they have a big country with a lot of people and most of them have a good education but some do not. If you compared it to Germany, they do not look as good because Germany has a really good education. China and Brazil’s education is not as good so they do not have as many doctors.

QUESTIONS ABOUT PHYSICIAN DENSITY

4. Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. The 7th and 8th ranked countries are Canada and India. Canada is developed and India is developing. Since Canada is such a big county with a lot people spread out, they need to have more schools so the children don’t have to go as far. India has to get better literacy rates which will lead them to getting a greater physician density.

5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption.Zambia surprises me the most because they have a 80.6% literacy rate but they only have 0.055 doctors for every 1,000 people. This will have a great impact on world consumption because with not as many doctors, not as many people can be helped. That means that they may not eat as much as other countries.

QUESTIONS ABOUT POPULATION1. What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that

this country has the highest amount?China has the largest amount of population. I think they do because they have a lot of land, they have a lot of water, and that they have a lot of jobs. So a lot of people move there for that reason.

2. What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount?Haiti has the smallest population. I think they do because a lot of people passed during the earthquake. Also, the do not have as much land as some countries.

3. Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. The 5th and 6th countries are Germany and Japan. Germany is developed with 81,305,856 people and Japan is also with 127,368,088 people. I think they are there because they do not have much territory to live on.

QUESTIONS ABOUT POPULATION4. Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so,

what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question. The 7th and 8th ranked countries are Canada and France. Canada doesn’t have many people because there are a lot of mountains and snow. France doesn’t because the don’t have a lot of land.

5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption.A country that stands out to me is Brazil because I thought they had a lot more people than they do. Also they have a lot of land which I thought more people can live on. It has medium effect on consumption because the more people, the more they eat.

QUESTIONS ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION

1. What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that this country has the highest amount? The United States consumes the most oil. I think they do because they have a lot of people that use it and a lot of jobs that need it. Also it takes oil to make gas which we use a lot of.

2. What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount?Haiti has the smallest amount. I think they do because they are still recovering from the earthquake. They also do because they do not have as many people like the U.S.

3. Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. The 5th and 6th ranked countries are Germany and Brazil. Germany is developed and Brazil is not. They are where they are because they do not have as many people and they do not produce a lot of oil.

QUESTIONS ABOUT OIL CONSUMPTION

4. Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question.France and Canada are the 7th and 8th countries. They are both developed countries. They need to dig up more oil if they want to get more. Maybe they do not need more oil so they wont get any.

5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption.India jumped out at me. I think they did because I saw how many people they had and how little oil they consume. I think it made a big impact because there will be a lot of people that need that oil in India.
