REVERSE ADVENT CALENDAR

The Mission Committee has a new idea this year: the Reverse Advent Calendar. This is to help the Food Shelf restock their shelves after the Christmas rush so they can

continue helping people in need in our community! Each day of Advent represents a different food item. We’re asking people to collect the foods in a small box, and have it to church on or before December 24th. This is a great opportunity to work with another person/small group to complete the full set if you are

unable to complete a box on your own. The boxes will be delivered to the Food Shelf on December 26th. Copies of the food list

are on the Mission Table and in the Nov. Oracle. Thank you!

FOOD SHELF THANKSGIVING UPDATE… The Food Shelf staff greatly thank all who contributed towards Thanksgiving baskets. They prepared and delivered 63 baskets to local families, including turkeys, for their Thanksgiving tables! OPC provided 14 of those turkeys! AMAZING!!! The 6 or 7 extra turkeys we provided will be used for the Cartons for Christmas drive starting next week! A big THANK YOU to all who donated cash or turkeys along with your regular donations throughout this year. You have made a huge difference to our community. The Food Shelf staff have been repeatedly overwhelmed by our generosity and support.

CALL FOR ANNUAL REPORTS

It’s that time of year again… For those that need to submit an Annual Report, please have them to Brandon by Friday, December 27th

(other than financial reports from Dennis). Sooner is always better… please try not to put them off til the last minute.

It takes A LOT of time to compile and format all the individual reports into the final OPC Annual Report, so this firm deadline is needed in order to give adequate time for

printing and distribution before the Annual Congregational Meeting.

***DEADLINE FOR 2019 GIVING***

In order for me to provide each of you with a complete statement of your giving during 2019, please be aware of the following: All pledge monies or other monetary giving must be in my possession before Noon on Tuesday, December 31st to be applied toward your 2019 giving. Any monies received after then will be

applied to your 2020 statement. This deadline is necessary so that I can properly close the financial books for 2019. NOTE: This is also a good time to double check to make sure your pledge will be paid up for the year.
