Kent City News Mrs. Frank H. Thomas, Correspondent Phone Oil 8-7151 Dr. Smith has recovered from his surgery and is now keeping his re- gular office hours. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph White of Dundee were week-end visitors at the Frank Thomas home. Truda Gilbert of Traverse City spent Saturday with Joy Dudley. A Lenten Coffee was held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Following the breakfast some Calvin College stu- dents presented a chancel reading from the play "Barabbas". There is an urgent need for vol- unteer workers at the Well Child Clinic which is held in the Town Hall on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 9 a.m. Fred DeJonge left last Wednesday for Fort Knox, Kentucky, to take his basic training. His wife, the former Pat Hamernik, is staying with her folks in Grand Rapids. The P.T.A. met Thursday even- ing at the school. The program was presented by Dr. Prins D.D.S. of Fremont who showed pictures and talked about his work in the Af- rican Medical Clinic in Nigeria. A committee was appointed to allocate the money made at the carnival. This committee is to make a r e - port at the April meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Afton and Mr. and Mrs. James Plite and fam- ily of Belmont were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Afton and family. Mrs. Virginia Elkins and John of Royal Oak and Mr. and Mrs. Wal- ter Viergiver of Evanston were Sat- urday visitors at the Clare Austin home. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar DeJong and JoAnn spent Sunday in Chicago visi- ting the Art Institute. Thomas Rancour of East Lansing was a weekend guest of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Brewer and Karyl.
