Caring Hearts

Cecil waters flowers in one of several raised beds in the Dover Foundation Healing Garden at Life Enrichment in Kings Mountain.LEC horticulture program proves ‘There is healing in nature’ Although horticulture therapy began in the 1600’s when doctors noticed that the poor patients who were working in the garden to pay for their hospitalization recovered quicker and to a better health standard than other patients, the concept is seeing renewed emphasis. Life Enrichment has seen the benefits of its horticultural therapy program: it can be for any age or ability; it improves overall well being; it’s fun; it’s meaningful; it enhances physical, mental, and social health.
