Hi Kids and Parents, Looks like we are going to have a nice day for our September rally fingers crossed! Please keep an eye on your ponies in the next few weeks as the that bit of green grass starts to come through not only will the horses be feeling good and a little frisky you need to watch they don’t get to fat and get sore feet. Well done to all our kids out and about competing I have been hearing great reports. Good Luck to Tahnee,Kelsey and Paige all competing in horse trials at Werribee this weekend we will miss you all but best of luck. We have a great rally planned with lots of fun games. VICE- PRESIDENT’S REPORT
By Glen Rivers Hi everyone, If anyone is available to be an early bird helpers (apart from those already on duty) this Sunday it would be much appreciated as Ellie and family won`t be available to lend their usual rally day support at set up time. Any assistance appreciated if you are an early bird! I plan to work on cleaning up the new theory room on Sunday so if you have time to wander over and help out it would be most welcome. Some important dates and events for the diary: ·∙ Working Bee -‐ Sunday 9th September to do some spraying and wiper snipping pre Fimister Shield. All welcome. If you can help out, even for only an hour or less, it all counts! Let me know on Sunday or by email [email protected] if you can lend a hand. ·∙ Fimister Shield locked in for Sunday 28h October so keep it free for participation and assistance. The WPC depends on these events to finance our year so your assistance is needed if possible. ·∙ Camp Anglesea was the popular choice so Whinbury Hill is booked for 22-‐23 March, 2013 for our next camp! Further info on the property look at www.whinburyhillequestrian.com ·∙ C Certificate: 20th October. Can parents please bring a plate to share for the judges and participants. Please arrive 8.30 for a 9am start to assist with set up. ·∙ Riding Pony show December 16. We know its a mad time but if you can mark in your diaries to help in the canteen as this will be another great fund-‐raiser which our club desperately needs. Will be fun to have a look also! Other items: ·∙ IT nuts are needed for Website Update: If anyone would like to assist updating our rather unwieldy website it would be most welcome. Speak to any committee member or Leanne Manton. ·∙ Canteen – you may or may not notice slight increases in canteen prices owing to increased costs. Just remember, it all goes to a good cause – WPC! ·∙ Chocolate Money. Please pay to Judy if you still owe. ·∙ Lowden refunds can be collected from Judy. ·∙ Walkie talkies: These are still missing so if anyone has any clues as to where they might be please tell a committee member! Fundraising/Grants. We really need a person to assist Donna Desmet with fundraising and further ideas. There are many grants available but we are not chasing them up or applying for them. We need a volunteer to do this! That’s it I think. Glen

DUTY ROSTER 2012: CANTEEN DUTIES :
If you are on canteen duty, please be
available at 10am.
The Canteen cannot be organised for the day if you are late.
Please provide a cake or slice for sale (wrapped individually).
These are also given to instructors
for morning & afternoon tea. Thanks.
Please note those on BBQ duty are to cook the BBQ and then help organize lunch
& serve at the canteen counter.
Please ensure at the end of canteen duty that you 1 – wipe down tables and chairs;
2 – pick up any rubbish lying around the clubrooms; 3 – place tables and chairs back in order; and 4 – bag all rubbish and leave in male toilets.
The rubbish is collected by the council during the week.
SETUP/PACKUP DUTIES :
Please try to set-up by 8:30am. For instructions for what is required, please
Speak to the D.C. or an instructor.
Trailer duty involves towing the jumps and other equipment trailer to the required area for set-up and then assistance loading/unloading.
Don’t forget, we need you to pack-up at the
end of the rally also.
From July there will also be a new job at the end of the day to harrow the arenas. The harrows are padlocked to the gates
and will need to be towed around after pack up.
**Any member who is unable to fulfill their roster duties,
please arrange a replacement member and let the Canteen Manager or the D.C. know, so that the roster can be changed accordingly.
***PLEASE NOTE*** *The above roster is designed to ensure that all members share the duties of
organising our rally days. We try to rotate the duties as fairly as possible. Unfortunately, some of our members have not been sharing the duties fairly
by not making themselves available when rostered on. It is perfectly understandable that sometimes the selected dates do not suit some of us.
However, we all get the same amount of notice via the newsletter to arrange our personal calendars. If you are not going to be available for a rostered duty,
please make alternative arrangements by swapping with another member. A phone call is all it takes to ensure our rally days are catered for!!
