[NC 6] METRO ROLLING STOCK

6.1 PURPOSE

The Metro Rolling Stock listed within this section primarily focuses on the operational fleet assets managed by MTM Rolling Stock to fulfil the services and operation of the Metro Trains Franchise Agreement for the Melbourne metropolitan trains network.

It details the operational Metro Rolling Stock fleet regarding manufacturer, class and vehicle type, max speed, mass rating, passenger seating, length of vehicle and vehicle numbers. It also contains Metro leased vehicles in which MTM operates internally as well as for other revenue services operated outside of the metropolitan boundary (e.g. V/Line Sprinters – Stony Point).

This document does not cover TV1, TV2 and TV3 Track Vehicles which shall comply with the requirements set out within L1-CHE-PRO-033 - Track Vehicle Registration Process and approval to operate recorded in on-line software tool called PlantGUARD (https://plantguard.tech).

6.2 SCOPE

The WTT Network Configuration documents are applicable to Metro trains operator, V/Line trains operator, Public Transport Victoria, Third Party organisations and contractors that use the Melbourne metropolitan trains network as defined under the Melbourne Metropolitan Train Franchise agreement.

6.3 RESPONSIBILITY

Refer to L1-CHE-MAN-010 Table 1 - Responsibility Matrix for WTT Network Configuration for the department representative responsible for the Metro rolling stock fleet.

6.4 DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT

WTT Network Configuration – Metro Rolling Stock is one of the eight documents forming the WTT Network Configuration document suite as highlighted below.

For more information refer to L1-CHE-MAN-010 Figure 1 – WTT Network Configuration Control Process Map.
