The door entry app. provides a convenient and informative means of alerting staff that someone wishes to gain entry. A CCTV camera is positioned outside the door to monitor activity. On arrival at the door a door bell is pressed causing an alert tone to be raised at the nurse call staff indicator. The camera is activated from the indicator and the CCTV image appears on screen. Using soft keys on the nurse call indicator the door is opened. As an optional feature it is possible for staff to speak with visitors before allowing entry. Security within the healthcare environment must balance control with accessibility. Using a low profile solution such as the Fusion-IP access control app. as an integrated part of the nurse call system allows patients to feel safe and visitors to feel welcome. ! Uses CCTV images to assist staff in evaluating the caller and restrict entry to unauthorised persons. ! Eliminates the need for separate indicators at the nurse station. ! Can also be used to monitor critically ill patients, babies and small children whilst reducing pressure on staff to attend the patient bedside. ! Depending on the number of CCTV cameras required there are two options for connection to the nurse callsystem. Where only one camera is required, it can be plugged directly into the nurse call datastation’s LANport. Where two or more cameras are required, connection will be through switch/hub(s) linking to the LAN.

Q. What is Fusion-IP?

A. Fusion-IP is the name for Static Systems’ range of integrated communications systems andapplications. Fusion-IP systems are designed to be ‘platform independent’; that is, they are designed towork with legacy, current and future communication technologies.

Q. What is an ‘app’?

A. Inspired by the ingenuity and popularity of modern day ‘apps’, Fusion-IP offers a series ofpackaged applications designed specifically to meet the needs of healthcare environments.

Each ‘app’ comprises all the necessary software to add functionality to a Fusion-IP communicationssystem, with any additional equipment supplied as required. There are currently almost 30 apps tochoose.

Q. What type of cable is required?

A. All LAN connections are wired in industry standard CAT5e data cable. The maximum cable run allowedis 100 metres, again this is industry standard.

Q. How do I power my IP cameras?

A. The IP cameras require a separate local power supply connected through a power brick.

Q. How many IP cameras can I connect to my nurse call system?

A. The number of IP cameras allowable on a multiple camera system is limited only by the capacity of theLAN switch.

Q. Can my cameras be supplied by a third party?

A. Yes. However, the IP cameras being used must be approved by Static Systems Group.

Q. Can I connect my cameras into an existing or third party IP network?

A. Yes, in principal. However, we request discussion takes place between Static Systems Group and thesite IT/Network administrators before official confirmation is given.

Q. Do I need a special nurse call indication?

A. The Fusion-IP door entry app. works with our standard nurse call datastation.

Q. Are events associated with the door entry system logged?

A. All events are automatically date and time stamped along with a location label and call type.

Up to 1,000 events are logged and can be viewed on the LCD staff indicator, and can be downloadedusing BedBinder-i - our Windows based software programme designed to assist with systemmaintenance and Testing.

Fusion-IP servers and datastations log 10.4 million events per 1 GB of hard disk space.

Systems can also connect to a printer to provide details of patient calls either as they occur or uponrequest.
