Trump Taps Exxon’s Tillerson As Top US Diplomat

UAE Banks To Collect Foreigners’Tax Details From Jan 1st

Washington: President-elect Donald Trump named the head of ExxonMobil Corp, Rex Tillerson, as his choice for US secretary

of state on Tuesday and won backing from some Republican foreign policy figures for the oilman despite his ties to Russia. The Exxon chief potentially faces a tough fight to be confirmed in the Republican-controlled Senate. Some lawmakers worry about his links to Moscow, which awarded him a medal in 2013. But several Republican figures, including former secretaries of state James Baker and Condoleezza Rice, and former Defence Secretary Robert Gates vouched for Tillerson, 64, who has spent more than 40 years at the oil company.

Karachi: Banks in the United Arab Emirates have started issuing an advisory to their foreign customers about implementation of a new

global transparency policy that requires their tax details in their own country in a move to fight cross-border tax evasion and put an end to banking secrecy in tax matters, local media reported on Tuesday. It said the new regulation is part of the common reporting standard (CRS), also referred to as the global Fatca, which stands for Fore ign Account Tax Compliance Act in the United States. “Countries around the world have been looking for ways to track down and monitor tax-delinquent residents overseas. Offshore tax abuse is reportedly costing Ame ri ca alone $100 billion a year,” said one of the media reports. “The CRS aims to foster an exchange of information between countries regarding expatriate or individual bank accounts, interest, dividends or incomes earned outside their home country.” In compliance with the global tax compliance regulation, financial institutions in the UAE will start collecting the necessary tax-related information from customers from January 1, it said. “From the beginning of January 2017, governments will start requiring all banks and other financial institutions to ask customers for infor mation with a view to determining where they are resident for tax purposes,” said the largest foreign bank operating in Dubai in its letter to its customers.

Senator John Wallace Quits To Fulfil Appointment Pledge, But Others

Won’t Follow Suit

New Brunswick: Senator John Wallace is leaving the Red Chamber years before his mandatory retirement date because he is sticking to the

pledge he made former prime minister Stephen Harper to only serve an eight-year term. Others appointed at the same time, however, say they have no plans to step aside. Harper appointed 18 senators in January 2009 when there were fears the Liberals and the NDP would form a coalition to bring down the Conservative minority government. At the time, Harper had only appointed two senators and the Liberals held a numerical majority in the chamber. In a statement sent from the Prime Minister’s Office, Harper said at the time that all appointees were committed to helping implement the government’s Senate reform agenda and would serve a limited, eight-year term as part of the push to change the upper chamber. Independent Saskatchewan Senator Pamela Wallin, who was appointed alongside Wallace, said Tuesday there was “never a formal request regarding limiting length of service,” at the time of her appointment. But she said she is a “firm believer” in the concept of term limits. Wallin also said she has not yet served for eight years, as she was suspended from the chamber for roughly two years as a result of the Senate expenses scandal. The RCMP announced in May it wouldn’t press criminal charges against Wallin for irregularities in her expenses.

Young Afghan ‘Messi Fan’ Meets IdolLeo In Doha

Britain’s May To Brief Brussels AsEU Prepares For Brexit Talks

Qatar: An Afghan boy who became an internet sensation after pictures of him wearing an improvised Lionel Messi football

shirt went viral finally got to meet his superstar idol on Tuesday.Murtaza Ahmadi met the Barcelona forward in Doha, where the

Spanish league champions are due to play a friendly match against Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli later.Six-year-old Murtaza, from the rural Ghazni province southwest of Kabul, is also due to walk out onto the pitch with the Argentinian at Doha’s Al-Gharrafa stadium. “The image the world wanted to see,” tweeted Qatar’s

2022 World Cup organisers, who brought the pair together. “The six year old boy who dreamed of meeting his hero, #Messi, finally comes true.” A delighted Murtaza said: “I’m very happy to have met my hero. It is a dream for me,” according to a statement released by Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the committee overseeing organisation of the 2022 tournament. Murtaza became a worldwide online hit earlier this year after he was pictured wearing his hero’s shirt, made out of a plastic bag, with the name Messi and the famous number 10 written on it in marker pen.The shirt was made by his teenage brother Homayoun after his neighbour threw away grocery bags.

Brussels: Prime Minister Theresa May will update Britain’s partners in Brussels on Thursday on her plans to launch talks

by March on quitting the EU, and they will settle their arrangements for the negotiations. May will join an EU summit starting after 12 p.m. (1100 GMT) to discuss issues from migration to the economy, security and building up defences against Russia as Donald Trump prepares to enter the White House with an agenda many Europeans fear may dilute the historic U.S. military commitment to protect them from Moscow. Summit chair Donald Tusk said in a tweet that May will “update” the leaders “on Brexit preparations” before she leaves early in the evening to let the other 27 EU leaders agree their own strategy over dinner. An aide to May stressed ahead of the meeting that she saw no problem in not being included - rather saw it as a positive - and said the premier was determined to open the two-year window for divorce talks within three months despite doubts raised by a court case that seeks more parliamentary control of the process. Continental governments have been impatient for May to start a process which they see as being held up by divisions in London on what to ask for in a Brexit which even few of its supporters had thought likely before the shock referendum vote in June.

Canadian Actor Alan Thicke Dead At 69

Montreal: Actor Alan Thicke has died. He was 69. Carleen Donovan,a publicist for one of Thicke’s three sons, singer Robin Thicke, said the

Canadian-born actor died from a heart attack on 13th December in Los Angeles. Thicke was playing hockey with his youngest son Carter when he suffered the fatal attack, Robin Thicke told the Los Angeles Times. Earlier in the day, Thicke that tweeted his thanks to the Whistler Film Fest, where he had recently received a Canadian Icon award. Born in Kirkland Lake, Ont., in 1947, Thicke was best known for ‘80s sitcom Growing Pains. As Dr. Jason Seaver, he played a psychiatrist who works out of home, where he also finds himself juggling the challenges of marriage and parenting, particularly with his oldest son. In an interview with q host Tom Power earlier this month, he said he was proud about the show’s history of touching on difficult subject matter while maintaining a light and comedic tone. Thicke said the character of Jason Seaver was a blend of his own experiences and the talented writers on the show. “I think I brought some of my own values, my good old Canadian, northern Ontario backwoods values to the character and, in turn, I learned something from what they were writing, so it was a nice exchange,” he said.

Saudi King Rejects Interference In Yemen

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia is determined to prevent external “interference” in neighbouring war-torn Yemen, King Salman said in an annual address

on Wednesday. He did not explicitly refer to the kingdom’s regional rival Iran but Saudi officials have accused Tehran and the Lebanese Shia militant group Hezbollah of aiding rebels in Yemen. Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has itself led an Arab coalition conducting air strikes against the Shia Huthi rebels and providing other assistance to local forces in support of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi. “We will not accept any interference in the internal affairs of Yemen,” King Salman said in an address opening a new session of the Shura Council, an appointed body which advises cabinet. Salman said his country will neither accept that Yemen “becomes a base or a point of passage for whatever state or party to menace the security or the stability of the kingdom and of the region”. The Saudi-led coalition intervened after Huthi rebels allied with elite members of security forces loyal to Yemen’s former president Ali Abdullah Saleh seized the capital Sanaa and overran other parts of the country. The rebels have killed at least 110 civilians and soldiers in rocket fire and skirmishes along the Saudi frontier. They have also fired longer-range ballistic missiles over the border at Saudi Arabia. International investigators last month said they had found a suspected “weapons pipeline” from Iran through Somalia to Yemen.

Columbian born Miguel Maldonado, a man jack of all trade’s decided to do something quite extraordinary in the fashion District. He created a fashion show called Sunny Isle fashion show in Miami Florida, working with him along side-by-side gave many a new vision and how the industry works constructing a fashion show starting it from A-to-Z, from back stage to front stage.

I myself being in the industry for so many years was really excited to alongside him in his show. It is hard to find people that are trustworthy and compassionate about what they do and this man is definitely one of them.

Miguel studied fine arts in London England and then from there he went to LA and then landed in Miami and Sunny isles beach. He says it was feeling of home with the soft sounds of water every morning and calmness of the place.Migule story goes as follows his design and interior decorating background landed as an assistant designer for Splash a fashion house and then from there he became become a lead designer for the company which gave him a more wide scope of the industry.

When moving to Miami he decided to fall into real estate, learning the housing market only felt natural because he had compassion of interior decorating. This entrepreneur played with the sharks, learning the back ends of real estate, for a few years. Along his road to success Pan, American pageant approached him and asked him to help cast construct and execute a Pageant, which he did with grace. Then falling in love with the industry of beauty and health he had also fallen in love with the love of his life, his wife of 23 years Imperatriz of and then had a beautiful daughter Parrie.

After attending many fashion shows he realized there was something missing, the unity, the connection of it all .. He started with constructive criticism which brought him to in conjuring up an idea that came to reality..his own fashion show .So he decided upon himself to create his own fashion show by combining designers, make-up artist, hairstylist, models, photographers, music artist and young entrepreneurs to make a landmark at Sunny Isle Beach.

He says “the new generation was full of talent but there was no one to guide them. “He didn’t want to do any regular fashion show, he wanted to do something where you can educate people and train them on how to do a fashion show and this is what came to the result in November, never the less right before the hurricane that was going to hit Miami he decided to go ahead “ the show must go one rain or shine or hurricane in this case”

Designers, models and guests came from all over to be a part of this beautiful event. Still until this day, he is learning and says that “there are so many things other people don’t know how to do and how to perform and I like to be someone who helps bring this industry to life! To educate and to help”

Miguel has worked long and hard and his life in many different fields but all connected to this industry and I’m proud to say that I have the honor of working with him in Florida. He goes by the motto “do what you say and say what you do” And look forward to going on to ongoing projects in the near futureMiguel you have made a great event, tick tock time for the next venture...

Make The Entrance And Doors CaptivatingDress up craft-store letters with faux moss for a message that’s got meaning and texture. Dangle pinecones from every cabinet door: Form a long ribbon into a loop, and hot-glue to the pinecone’s base. Tie another long ribbon into a bow, and hot-glue over the ends of the first ribbon.

Use Wreaths And Stockings For GlamourYou can make your walls attractive using your stockings and glam wreaths. Tie a wide piece of ribbon in a knot at the top and leave the ends long for a fresh take on the big red bow. Deck out your windowsill like a mantel. Dress up store-bought stockings by adding ball fringe or ribbon with a glue gun.

Dignify The Elegance With OrnamentsSophisticated yet stress-free, a candlelit centerpiece will last until you ring in the New Year. Just place several snowy tapers in the center of a store-bought boxwood wreath. You may use different shapes and sizes; add Christmas ornaments to your banister’s garland to make it look even more charismatic.

Make It Twinkling, Make It ShineMix faux garland with real greenery, weaving in pine cones and a matching thick ribbon. Create your own white Christmas by wrapping the containers in birch bark and scattering snow-spritzed pinecones. An icy frost will make your decoration look more real and classy. You can make a fake icy frost by rolling faux fruit in a mixture of three parts white glitter to one part silver for a wintry coating.

Engage Beauty With Trees And Décor PiecesGo clumsy and turn a wooden slice into a hand-painted demarcate of the most famous reindeer of

all. Get a Little Tree, a baby version of your large Christmas tree is the perfect size for a table instead of a star, try a bow. You can also plant a Row of Trees. Plunked in galvanized pails, spruce seedlings keep the greenery coming. Add some sparkle by securing ornaments to a bead garland with floral wire.

Re-Style The IndoorYou can mix the traditional candy dish and dress up a plain tray with peppermint puffs. Light a few candles and your centerpiece is complete. If you don’t have space for trees you can decorate an entryway or a tiny apartment with fir, spruce or pine branches in an oversize jar.

Cherish Through Christmas CardsSince you apparently receive more Christmas cards than you can count you can create a place to frame them. Use string lights. Hang Christmas cards to make you grin as you pass by a festive staircase.

Syncmag: Firstly I would thank you for inviting us to this event. It’s a great privilege to be a part of this. We found this really interesting that we were able to retrieve enough information about WOBI speakers, but could not find much about you (chuckles) and it enticed our curiosity to find out more about you and motivate our viewers How did you start WOBI? What was the inspiration behind it?

GUSTAVO (smiles): Well I’ve been working at WOBI for the last 20 years. I didn’t own WOBI. I just started WOBI 20 years ago just when the company was three years old. I just fell in love with it because of the inspiration of the event whereas I am basically an architect.

Syncmag: Yes! I have definitely heard that from an architect you went all the way into marketing and that is quite a leap. So who was your mentor and inspiration behind that?GUSTAVO: A lot people my father is a great inspiration for me. In business field, a lot of people who are making their dreams possible are my inspiration. There are lots of brave and intelligent people outside.

Syncmag: You invite all these successful entrepreneurs, speakers and politicians who are larger than life. How do you feel the incorporation of them into WOBI structure? Do you feel you have achieved the best of what you have to provide or you are looking forward to more? GUSTAVO: I am looking forward to more, all the time. We are in the middle of digital transformation of company to improve our experience through the different communicators we have. We have companies who are attending our event worldwide, the speakers who are helping us to develop the content to inspire more people and

as well as our partners. We are working really hard to improve our experience with every one of those in digital field. We have a lot of content. We have a channel WOBI TV through which we share lot of content. We need to share this content with everyone not just with our home platforms but the rest of platforms too and technology is doing that easily.

Syncmag: What is the main objective of WOBI? I understand bringing all the specialists and entrepreneurs here but for WOBI itself what is the mission?

GUSTAVO: We are not into the business of holding events. We are in the business of inspiration. Our mission is to inspire people to be better people with better businesses and as a consequence with good values and better work. It is our mission and it’s huge. For this reason we want to keep growing, launching new markets and the people who can change the world and can inspire to do that. We are like a spark of inspiration, if we inspire one out of every attendees; we have achieved something, and that is worth a celebration. This is our mission and we are happy with that.

Syncmag: How did you end up choosing Malala Yousafzai as a speaker? What made you realize she can better inspire the businessmen and entrepreneurs around the world?

GUSTAVO: We always try to choose different kind of speakers. Those who show something special and inspiring to the rest of the community. Malala is inspiring for a lot of people and especially for new generation, in fact for every generation. I think we need to learn about her and what she is doing for the world.

Syncmag: If you choose one between discipline and management in being a more successful entrepreneur, what are you going to prefer?

GUSTAVO: That’s a tough question. I think discipline because then you can learn more about management. But an entrepreneur has a lot of energy, passion. They are doing their own ideas and projects. And sometimes discipline is important in order to keep growing our project. At the beginning we need discipline and then we keep learning about management.

Vijay Govindarajan, who has made his mark through his various publications and awards, was part of WOBI where he shared his ideas

about innovation, entrepreneur ship and management. He is New York Times and Wall Street Journal Best Selling Author, is

Coxe Distinguished Professor at Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business and Marvin Bower Fellow at Harvard Business School. His

remarkable thoughts can persuade not only businessmen, working people and enterprisers

but also any common man.

Interviewing Vijay GovindarajanHumera Khan: Firstly I would like to express my admiration and our team as well. The quote you said “Reverse innovation is not an option it’s a requirement”.This strategy is not only for the developed country but it blends well with the under developed country and that is great. What inspired you to come up with such a great idea?

VG: You see I have grown up in India and what I saw in India was lots and lots of problems and very few resources. The only way you can solve your problem is through innovation. You can’t put money in everything; you don’t have money every time. So, that’s why I was very interested in this idea. If you want a lot of potential in the market like India, you want break through innovations. Then I found that those breakthrough innovations actually work in rich countries also. That’s how I came up with reverse innovation, because if you design a product for a rich man, the poor man can’t afford it. If you design a product for a poor man, everybody can afford it.

Humera Khan: Throughout your journey of achievements (which are plenty) being the top medalist in India, which itself is a great achievement, what kept you achieve one thing after other, who inspired you for everything?

VG: I give credit to my grandfather because he told me something that is really useful for me. I always used to stand first in my school grade and it was not that difficult because there were only 15 students. Then when I started university, there were students from different parts of town and country. There were 20,000 students and I did not know most of them. I stood 1st in university. I was very happy and took my grades to my grandfather. He looked at the grades and told me you got only 90/100 in history, your history is not very good. You should study its book more

carefully. What he was actually saying was that you should never be satisfied in being the gold medalist out of 20,000 students because there is an absolute standard of a 100/100 in every subject. If you got 100/100 in every subject, you obviously will be number one. If you satisfy with a 90/100, because it got you to number 1, the next step you may fall short. And then when I took my chartered accountant exams where there were millions of people, I stood first there,Humera Khan: What an honor it is for a country to have a genius like you. I would like to ask you what would you have to say to the people who are not as achieving and who have the potential but sometimes don’t have the means?VG: I think the biggest message I can give is that human potential is unlimited. We sometimes underestimate the power of human beings. Simply because someone doesn’t have resources doesn’t mean they can’t achieve great things. So, start thinking big, dream big. The biggest deficiency we have is we don’t think big. If we start thinking big, then we find a way to achieve something big.

Humera Khan: Being attracted here through Malala Yousafzai, we’d like to hear your vision on gender equality. What would you like to say on that?

VG: I think it’s so critical because I find women can really play an important role in progress. I have met many women in my career, in rural India who are not educated but they are very intelligent and very resourceful. And they do some incredible things. Muhammad Younas on micro finance targeted women and the reason he targeted women was because they unlock the value. Therefore I think work is very important for women too.

Humera Khan: In one of your talks, you have said that North Americans want value for money instead of value for many. Do you think that would play out here or that could have changed this country?VG: Absolutely , I think value for money is mantra in the US but I think in India its value for

many and value for many is doing more for less and doing lot more with lot less with many people. That’s the only way we can solve our problem.

Syncmag Team seeks that Vijay Govindarajan, one of the world’s leading business thinkers, whose strategy gives a sense of direction and integrates managers’ decisions into a coherent whole continue to aspire entrepreneurs and employers all over the world!

The New York event of WOBI included the warm and influential personality as a speaker, Mcchesney who gave his idea of execution, focus and how a person can succeed in a path he/she has chosen and get a better result out of that. It was an ultimate opportunity for the Syncmag team to meet such an engaging and prompting speaker.

Chris McChesney is a Wall Street Journal #1 National Best Selling Author The 4 Disciplines of Execution. In his current role of Global Practice Leader of Execution for Franklin Covey, Chris is one of the primary developers of the 4 Disciplines of Execution. For more than a decade, he has led Franklin Covey’s design and development of these principles, as well as the consulting organization that has become the fastest growing area of the company.

Chris has personally led many of the most noted implementations of the 4 Disciplines, including the State of Georgia, Marriott International, Shaw Industries, Ritz Carlton, Kroger, Coca Cola, Comcast, Frito-Lay, Lockheed Martin and Gaylord Entertainment.

This practical experience has enabled him to test and refine the principles contained in the 4 Disciplines of Execution from the boardrooms to the front line of these, and many other organizations.

We present to you a very unique conversation with proactive MCchesney that will let you know the difficulties and interruptions he faced in his life and how he overcame those. In his interview with our team he also tells how he took his start with Franklin Covey all over before establishing the much known Four Disciplines of Execution.

Humera Khan: Firstly I would like to congratulate you on the new book you have written. How was your experience with Franklin Covey with whom you have worked for longest time? Share some thoughts on your experience.

CM: I was a real fan of Doctor Steven Covey. I was personally very affected by “THE 7 HABBITS OF HIGHLY AFFECTED PEOPLE”. Basically, they didn’t interview me. So, I pretended to need an internship and they let me work as an intern (smiling). After four months they realized that I hadn’t gone away and there’s no internship. So they finally offered me some money to stay and this was 25 years ago. I grew up in the same side of an organization and it really helped me understand client needs. I eventually got into sales management. I always loved the content and I met Jim toward whom the book is dedicated. He was the real founder of the early ideas around execution. I really feel that I have been carrying Jim’s work. Jim passed about almost 10 years ago and I feel that I wrote a book that Jim never had a chance to write and have been advancing the practice material. So, it’s been a really great journey and I feel very fortunate to be associated with this organization.

Humera Khan: You kind of answered my 2nd question that who was the inspiration behind the book as you said it was Jims work !

CM: Yeah and coming out of sales management, there are certain things that sales team do habitually. I believe they are counted very active. In a magazine where you have circulation and advertising, you probably fall into a lot of sae patterns. There is tendency to do certain things that I found myself getting on the same pattern to. So, the more I learned about execution, more exciting the topic got. Not because I am good in them but in fact I am quite opposite. I was challenged by them. And it’s quite interesting that as a child I had a classic case of hyperactivity attention deficit.

Humera Khan: That is really interesting because in our community there are lot of people and children who try to find solution with ADHD. You are an inspiration for them who are struggling with their children, seeing their children in that positionand worrying how their future can be.

CM: I seek out people who have ADHD or have children with ADHD, it’s obviously very daring because people with ADHD, their brains are spinning so fast that they struggle in school, they struggle in different activities. And they have to not become discouraged and have to realize that there is an enormous opportunity if they can focus but you cannot give in to this. When I was writing a book about ADHD it was brutally difficult. After two years i throw away 80 pages I have written on it. I have to throw them away and start all over again. I was working on this book for four years and I have to get myself in an environment where there was absolutely no distraction. And the other thing I had to do was that I had to be ok with the fact that I would be able to accomplish a goal which a normal person can accomplish. But I told myself that it was okay because I make up for it in other ways and that I have insights and I have energy that came up with the problems associated with ADHD. As long as I didn’t give up and I didn’t let myself off the hook and I didn’t play victim I could prosper and I could have been able to do things people without ADHD could not even do.

Humera Khan: Can you tell a little bit more about your book and people who have read “Four Disciplines Of Execution”?

CM: It’s basically about creating a mechanism for focus which occurs in attention deficit issues. If you are catering to a lot of entrepreneurs, ADHD people are entrepreneurs all day long. They love a new idea, they are creative, they have no fear, they are impulsive and I would say that there is a highest tendency of ADHD people to be entrepreneur than any other field. They can stand for other people. You may have heard that an entrepreneur is a person who works 80 hours a week so they don’t have to work 40 hours a week.

So, the first discipline is to learn to separate all the things you have to do in the operation. From that thing the intersection is really important and isn’t going to happen on its own and it’s applied to set of disciplines which we critically call goals. I don’t say that you don’t do all the other things but these are the main things which are going to get your finest attention. That is the first discipline in which you sum all of that. The 2nd discipline is act on measure. It’s what you measure to move that thing. The third discipline is to capture visual format. It’s not enough to have targets; you should be able to look at visible feedbacks. The final discipline is the discipline of accountability. You have to be accountable to someone every week to put energy against that thing. This is a very simple description but this is usually very complex to organizations to put energy against things which are important but not urgent. This is where our execution breaks down.

Humera Khan: Thank you so much for your time.

CM: It was fun!.

We wish Chris best of luck for his future projects and hope that he continue to drive the potential and focus of younger and senior generations for making the unachieved goals possible to achieve for themselves. We surely are looking forward for more influential content from him regarding entrepreneurship, focus, execution and more. Go chris!

The voice that touched souls, the tone which gave spiritual essence, the voice which gave a music for Pakistan to remember always in history, the sound which was turned into a mystical pleasure, the expression which made us revitalize Islam more, the voice which melted hearts, flourished moods and ultimately the voice of vitality, the voice of Junaid Jamshed is turned down giving his followers and lovers the most tragic thunder of the year.

Junaid Jamshed, a man with legendary mind and voice, died along with his wife, Neha Junaid, on 7th December 2016 when he was returning to Islamabad from Chitral, he went to Chitral for a Tablighi Jamaat mission. This news broke up very sadly and harshly to most of the people around as he was a mentor and idol for many young and even old populations.

JJ, pop singer turned Islamic preacher, known for legendary DIL DIL PAKISTAN, apparently not in his life but surely after his life made a mark in everyone’s heart of truly the icon he was. Junaid Jamshed, known for the drastic change in his life, at middle age where people are at the peaks of worldly pleasure, he turned himself in a pious individual. Nobody had the idea of “A Junaid Jamshed” they saw after a period, a period where he transformed himself completely. His life has been a dilemma which had lots of turns and twists and everyone would agree on that.

JJ was a person who endured all society tantrums and issues they smacked at him. With benevolence and forbearance he responded to every controversy created on him.

Junaid Jamshed And His LifeJunaid Jamshed was born in Karachi to Jamshed Akbar, a Group Captain in the Pakistan Air Force. He was born in 9 September, 1964 in Karachi Sindh Pakistan.

After graduating from an international boarding high school in Saudi Arabia, in 1990, Jamshed gained a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating inmechanical engineering from UET, Lahore. Perfectly groomed brows frame your face and pull your features into focus. If you’ve over plucked in the past or just have sparse areas, a brow serum applied at night will help condition, strengthen and thicken

Lashes are prominent feature of eye. A thick, long lash enhances the beauty of eyes and gives the natural beauty more room. 8 NEW YEARASPIRATION BOOSTSNew Year brings new hopes and cherishing moments to feel and celebrate. We listed 12 resolutions for you to make your year better ahead.

Get in shape and have healthier food: Losing weight is the top resolution

for everyone. It’s easy enough to start an exercise and diet program, but the trick is to find a decent one that will give you steady results and will be easy to stick to in the long run. Switching to a healthier diet can be incredibly tricky when we are surrounded by cheap junk food. However, with a good amount of determination and some basic tips you can slowly develop healthier eating habits.

Read more: Books are an excellent way to gain a lot of knowledge on a huge variety of

topics, and are also a great exercise for your brain. It’s not that difficult to go through 20 or more books in a year you only need to make it a habit, discover your type of books and find a bit of time for reading here and there.

Stop procrastinating: The biggest barrier that keeps most people from reaching their

goals is the desire to relax and do something fun instead of working hard. Once you get used to procrastinating it’s difficult to snap yourself out of it, so you’ll need to put in a lot of work to change this bad habit.

Improve your concentration and mental skills: People have been trying to find ways to

improve their focus and cognitive capacities for thousands of years, and most ancient civilizations had some combination of mental exercise and herbal medicine to help them reach this goal. Today we can use anything from apps to ancient meditation techniques to boost concentration and hone our mental skills. If you go through with this, you will be able to control your mood, learn faster and have an easier time solving problems.

Meet new people: When we get stuck in a rut, we usually end up staying

at home most of the time, missing out on a lot of interesting opportunities for networking and having fun. Meeting new people can be beneficial to your mental well-being and help your career, so don’t be afraid to get out there and make some friends. Overcome your shyness, get some knowledge and go and get to know new and interesting people.

Make yourself more active: Some people don’t really have a big weight problem,

and they even get some exercise a few times a week, but they just sit around the most of the time at home and at work, which can have a negative effect on their posture and health. In that case, all you need is to find ways of moving around more throughout the day instead of staying hunched over the computer. It’s even more fun if you share your activity with friends and family.

Become more confident and take some chances: If you are confident other

people notice it, and it is much easier to have your opinions heard, ask people out on dates and get ahead at work. A good dose of self-confidence will help you lead a much happier life overall. Don’t hesitate to get some input on ways to boost your confidence

Reduce stress: They say that stress is one of the biggest killers out there, and

it can have a very destructive effect on your relationships as well as your health. It may be an unavoidable side effect of our hectic modern lifestyles, but it can be effectively managed with the help of useful, unconventional and easy to practice tricks for stress management.

BIG ‘ROGUE ONE’ BOX OFFICE EXPECTED

TEEN JACKIE EVANCHO FIRST SINGER CONFIRMED FOR TRUMP INAUGURATION

Los Angeles: The latest entry in the “Star Wars” franchise divided film critics on Tuesday, but is expected to bring in more than $300 million (£236.8 million) at the global box office this weekend despite a social media boycott campaign over its perceived political slant. Reviewers either loved or hated Disney’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Rolling Stone magazine praised its “emotional, loopy, let’s-put-on-a-show spirit that made us fall in love with the original trilogy,” but the New Yorker called it “lobotomised and depersonalized.” ”Rogue One” arrives in theaters a year after the main cast of the original 1977 film reunited for “The Force Awakens,” which went on to take more than $2 billion at the box office. Box office analysts expect “Rogue One,” which starts its worldwide rollout on Wednesday, to do smaller business overall but to gross a bumper $300-$350 million on its opening weekend. The box office predictions have not changed since a boycott campaign, #DumpStarWars, gained steam on Twitter with claims that “Rogue One” contains scenes that are anti-U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and portray the galactic Empire in “Star Wars” as a white supremacist organization.

Washington: Classical crossover singer Jackie Evancho, who charmed TV audiences as a child on “America’s Got Talent” six years ago, will sing the U.S. national anthem

at the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump - the first performer to be announced for the ceremony. Trump’s inaugural committee made the

announcement on Wednesday, saying Evancho, 16, “represents the best and the brightest of America.” “I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome,”

Evancho said on the “Today” show on Wednesday. Celebrity news website TMZ reported on Wednesday that Italian tenor Andrea

Bocelli would also be singing at the Jan. 20 ceremony, but there was no official confirmation. As a tiny 10-year-old, Evancho wowed Americans with her soaring soprano on classical arias like Puccini’s “O mio babbino caro,” taking second place on “America’s Got Talent.” She will follow in the footsteps of Aretha Franklin and Beyonce, who performed the “The Star-Spangled Banner” at President Barack Obama’s two inaugurations. After her “America’s Got Talent” run, Evancho became the youngest solo artist to have a platinum-selling album in the United States. She met Trump at that time and has a photo on her Facebook page of the two of them standing together. The inaugural committee has said it has “world-class talent” offering their services for the ceremony, but Evancho is the first celebrity to be announced. The inaugural committee’s chairman, Tom Barrack, quashed speculation on Tuesday that rapper Kanye West, who had a surprise meeting that day with the Republican president-elect at Trump Tower in New York, would be performing.

Rogue One: A StarWars The thing that has always made George Lucas’ “Galaxy Far Far Away” so unique is its richness. Every character, every planet, every plot point and technical spec seems to have

been considered. It’s a thoroughly imagined universe full more obsessive details and arcane back stories than we can probably imagine. There are no unanswerable questions, just untold tales

and unmade movies. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first stand-alone chapter in the franchise, tells one of those untold tales. The new film is set just prior to the original Star Wars.

Rogue One is a Star Wars film, yes. And it feels epic. But what it really is at its core (underneath all of the gee-whiz special FX) is a heist flick. This motley band of thieves and scoundrels has to nick some blueprints. It’s Ocean’s 11 in space. And while the movie sags a bit in the middle (where it gets weighed down with exposition), the third-act heist is white-knuckle stuff. It’s when the movie really goes into hyper drive. There’s a lot to take in in Rogue One.

Rogue One would have been a very good stand-alone sci-fi movie if it came out under a different name. But what makes it especially exciting is how it perfectly snaps right into the Star Wars timeline and connects events we already know by heart with ones that we never even considered. It makes you wonder how many other untold stories are waiting in the shadowy corners of Lucas’ galaxy far far away.

For long-time fans the best moments in Rogue One are the references to the original six films, with most of those being direct call-backs to A New Hope. There are a lot of so-called Easter Eggs - some subtle, some obvious. The way in which the closing moments of Rogue One splice with the opening moments of A New Hope are perfect. So many new uniforms, and planets, and incidental species crammed into the back of the frame, we are looking forward to seeing it a second and third time. The two coolest settings are an Imperial-occupied moon called Jedha that looks like the Old City of Jerusalem and the tropical planet Scarif, which conjures strange images of storm troopers on spring break.

It’s a flawed movie, but a good one, sometimes more interesting as a concept than a story. But, oh, what a concept!
