• Environment, renewable energy, climate and natural resource management (37% in 2012 call);

• Reproductive health, including HIV/AIDS (29%),• Tax, capital flight and anti-corruption (22%); • Freedom of expression and human rights (7%); and • Economic participation of women (3 %)

Results 2011: • 161,3 mln (21,7 mln EUR) to 35 INGOs

Results 2012: • NOK 147,5 mln (19,8 mln EUR) allocated to 28 organisations. • 2,5 % to other areas. NOK 10 mill. allocated later that year,

specifically to climate robust agriculture.• Largest amount: 42 mln (5,6 mln EUR). Smallest 500 000 NOK

(67 000 EUR)

Remarks:• Grant receivers of 2012 are largely the same as those of 2011.• Many specialised, single-issue organisations (e.g. HIV, forest

etc)

2. Women and equality

• Thematic priorities:1) Combating violence against women;2) Sexual and reproductive health and rights;3) Women’s political rights and empowerment and4) Gender and climate change.5) Women’s economic rights and empowerment.

• Duration: max. 3 years.• Eligibility: • In theory: all INGOs; • in practice INGOs that are specialised in women’s rights

• In 2012, NOK 39 mill allocated to 13 regional and INGOs• In 2011: 41 mln NOK for 14 INGOs• Almost all 2011 grant receivers also received in 2012

3. Climate and Forest Initiative (CFI) funding scheme for civil society• Call every 3 year. Last call 2012 (for 2013-15). • Priority areas 2012 call:

– Sustainable Landscapes – REDD+ relevant commodity supply chains – Analysis, concept and methodology dev’t for REDD+ implementation – Creating global consensus on REDD+

• Geographic priorities: Amazon river basin, Congo river basin, Tanzania, Mekon region, Indonesia. Other rainforest countries.

• 2009-2012 round: 2013-2015 round:– 23,5 mln EUR / year - 37 mln EUR / year– 46 INGOs (projects 2-4 year) - 42 INGOs (projects 3 years)

• 2012 round: 700 applications; 42 approvals.

4. Rights of religious minorities

• Project opened in 2012. Call is part of project.• Current call: deadline May 1, 2013. 7.5 mln NOK (1 mln EUR)• Applicant eligilbility: Norwegian and South-based organisations• Duration: max 3 years• Geographic eligibility: all DAC1 countries.• Priority areas 2013 call:

– Cap. Building and awareness raising for religious minorities – Advocacy towards authorities (local, national) and/or businesses– Bridge building between populations (e.g. majority and minorities)

5. Oil for Development – Civil Society program• Project opened in 2012. Call is part of project.• Calls: yearly, deadline October 1. • Country eligibility: Uganda, Sør-Sudan, Sudan, Ghana,

Mosambik, Tanzania, Bolivia, Øst-Timor, Angola, Nigeria, São Tomé og Principe, Cuba, Tanzania, Irak, Elfenbenskysten, Liberia, Nicaragua, Sierra Leone og Libanon

• Priority areas :– Anti-corruption (incl. role of media)– Environmental problems related to oil sector– Cooperation between workers, business organisations and industry

regarding working conditions, safety and health.
