after we finished lessonswent to the wave pool. It was verybig. It even had water aqueducts, slides, and a diving board. But I onlyliked one of the pools. Because Ithink that other one was too deep toswim. I was afraid because Alicecouldnt swim, but she wanted to

play in the pool too. So she almostdrowned. Then the lifeguards used arod to save Alice then called her to

use a lifejacket unless she only couldstay in the childrens pool. She shetook one. Then, although I couldswim I am afraid, so I took one too. Then we stared playing dangerousgames. We were happy. Although Iused a life jacket I drank muchswimming water too.

Wynchemna is a greatlanguage camp in Calgary,Canada. You dont have tolearn only, you can also trylots of different specialactivities every day. Myfavorite activity waskayaking.

The teachers divided thestudents in two groups.

The first group started withkayaking while the othergroup were playingCanadian football.Every student got a boat

from two kayaking teachers. Then we started kayaking onthe Bow River. It was really funny because a lot of thestudents fell in the river. It was a really great day!

    Wynchemna In Reviewby Kristina Wende

I arrived in Calgary on August 3rd. I was very tired becauseof the long flight. At the airport I met some other peoplewho were going to Wynchemna. But the man who shouldhave picked us up was too late and we all got nervous. When we finally got picked up and arrived at the SAITResidence I met my roommate and the three weeks full ofactivities, fun, and making new friends began.

The next day we did many sports like frisbee, hockey, soccer, and skating. The skating was quite fun because itwas like skating in a disco and you felt like being in the1980s.

The next day we went to Drumheller. Where we did hiking. We spent lots of our time going on the mountain. On thenext day we made the Amazing Race. It think it was verygood because we walked through Downtown while we hadto do some exercises for example dance with a stranger.

The next two days we did some sports like baseball, canoeing, ice skating, kayaking, and football. Besides therewas as casino night where we could play Black Jack, Poker,UNO, and Bingo.

The next days we played golf, went climbing and went tothe wave park which was really good. On the next day wedid climbing and volleyball. The next day was veryexciting because it was the international supper day. Wecooked other countries food. For example, I was at thegroup which cooked Taiwan food. After all groups wasfinished we made a big supper with food from manydifferent countries. After that we did karaoke. On the nextday, we went in our tent groups for camping and put ourtents up. The next day we played many fun games in ourtent groups. In the evening the most of us students went to

Peters Drive-in. A restaurant with burgers and manydifferent and big milkshakes. The next day was theshopping day. Everyone was very excited and spent lots ofmoney in the different stores. After that we watchedmovies. I went to Batman. Going to be very good. Imalso sure that I will never forget these holidays.

I was trying to find something I canmeet in my country but It wasnt as easy as Ithought. I found only a few places like ZARA,Victorias Secret or fast food points. I was a little

bit confused but it was better for me. I could buywhatever I wanted and be sure I will haveoriginal clothes.

    Shopaholicby Caterina Cremonese

If you are a shopaholic the best thing to do is shop. Yesterday, August 14th the Wynchemna campwent to Chinook mall. Everybody was very happy and excited about doing shopping. For most of

the people this was the first time in a big Canadian mall and they enjoyed it very much. The guys had two hours to do their shopping and walk around the mall. We can say that Chinookmall is one of the biggest in Calgary. Most everybody went to Abercrombie and Hollister that arethe foremost brands for teenagers but everything was a bit rushed because 2 hours of time was notvery much.

Everyone was running to a shop and to the other trying to buy them. In every shop the peoplewere very friendly and gentle.

People like me were frustrated because they wish they had more time. But anyway after thateverybody enjoyed. Most of the people went to see Batman and they really enjoyed it. Other

people went to see Batman and Ice Age. After a really long day everyone was so tired that on thetrain back everyone was sleeping.

    The WavepoolBy Elie Daverio

On August 10, the entire group went to the wavepool in the evening. It is a big place with a lot ofslides and other attractions including a park for children and a rope system to jump in the water. After having listened to the security rules (that very few people would follow), we all ran (it wasforbidden) into the pool and jumped in it.After having drowned a few people we decided to go on the biggest slide (we were 9). This wasso much fun. 9 people going down the slide at one time (strictly forbidden!) going on top of eachother, kicking, pushing. Several times the security people yelled at us because of this but wedidnt care. We were here to have fun. After having done at least five times each slide, we decided to stay five minutes in the jacuzzi

    before going back home.

    Ice Skating

    By Andrew Tse

I have been to many Asian countries before, but itsthe first time I leave Asia. Joining the Wynchemna

summer camp to Canada. I arrived at Calgary withlots of expectations. Wow, I am happy to tell youthat I believe that these expectations are going to

be fulfilled as I already had countless awesomeactivities until now.

Among these group activities, my favorite one isthe ice skating for two times, and each time gaveme an unforgettable memory. Maybe youllassume Im a good ice skating player, but thats notthe truth. Actually, Im an ice skating beginner and

I just learned it in the camp. Its not about howwell you play the activity, what is important is the

process of how you learned and the happiness youhave gained after every little success.

I loved ice skating so much as it gave me a freefeeling. The free feeling calmed me down and

brought away the unhappiness. And heres a realexample, I had just lost my sunglasses before theice skating. I was so unhappy. However, I almostforgot all the unhappiness after it. That is the

    magic of ice skating.

Other than ice skating I also love kayaking, canoeing, rollerskating, hiking, hockey and manyactivities. I really enjoyed the great time in the onemonth Wynchemna summer camp and Im lookingforward for the 5 day camp starting tomorrow.

    Drumhellerby Aron Wussler

Yesterday, 5th Augus, the Wynchemna group went to Drumheller, a city in Alberta. The trip startedin the morning on a schoolbus to the canyon famous for fossils. Then they visited Drumhellerdowntown, looking for a pool which was, unfortunately, full. So the students chilled out a bit in the

public fountain. After eatingsome hot dogs they

journeyed to the DrumhellerDinosaur museum where lotsof dinosaur skeletons areexposed. Later on theyheaded home, eating a

refreshing ice cream with lotsof souvenirs. .

    The First of August

    By Francesco Bassanino

The first of August of 2012 we went to visit the mall in Calgary. In the early afternoon we took thetrain and we arrived at the mall at 15:00. We were divided in groups because we had to be at least

in 3 people going. I went with Louand Luca. The stuff in the mallwas really cheaper then in Europe. We went around in many shops ,inside and outside the mall tryingclothes, accessories and stuff. The

people that works at the shops arefar more friendly than the Italian

ones. It was really fun because wecould get to know each otherbetter and it was a good occasionto see Calgary from close and not

just from the bus windows. Thecity is really beautiful, there is alot of space and the buildings arenice and well built. It was reallynice being able to go around freewith some friends.
