We are ecstatic about the new opportunities that are available as a result of legislation that was passed to help close Virgnina’s skills gap, to make training more affordable, and to make Virginia competitive in the recruitment of new businesses and industries. The Workforce Credentials Grant has the potential to provide training at a fraction of the normal cost. Welding: GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) Structural Steel Certification TrainingCourse Description: The course is designed as anindustryweldingtrainingandcertificationcourse in an identifiedAWSwelding process(AWS D1.3 Structural Welding Code-Sheet Metal). The 30-hour course covers safety, routine equipment maintenance, set-up and troubleshooting, fundamentals of the GMAW process and applications, specific hands-ontraining, and certification preparation in the1F/2F and 1G welding positions. The course concludes with AWS Certification testing.Previous welding experience is recommended.

Dental Radiation SafetyThis course prepares employed dental staff to meet Virginia Board of Dentistry regulations for certificationindentalradiationsafety.
Dental Radiation Safety teaches techniques and devices for protection from ionizing radiation. This course discusses biological effects, cell sensitivity and the genetic effects of ionizing radiation. It includes practice of intraoral radiographic techniques. Students who successfully complete this workshop will be awarded a Certificate in Dental Radiation Safety. Theminimumscoreforthecertificationtestis75%.

Truck Driver Training
Get registered now for fall classes. The Truck Driving program includes a combination of classroom lecture, skills range, and on-the-road driving so students are fully prepared to sit for their CDL licensing exam when they complete the program.

The Basic Contractor Business Licensing Class is required by DPOR for anyone seeking an A, B, orClicenseforthefirsttime.Ifyouarecurrentlylicensed and need to change your business type, it is recommended that you contact the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) at (804) 367-8511 for guidance.

Concealed Weapons Permit Training
This 8-hour class provides the classroom and range instruction necessary to meet the certificationrequirements for a Concealed Weapons Permit. Students are required to provide their own firearm and 50rounds of ammunition. They will also be required to purchase 2-3 targets @ $1.00 each.
