Letter: Family Desperate To Find HouseTo The Editor:

We are looking for immediate help, as we are getting evicted this year. We’ve been renting here for over 17 years and have done a lot to help save their barn from falling down.

There are four of us (three generations) ranging from 78 to 16; three are disabled. We’ve nowhere to go. There are no houses for rent and if there were, I doubt we could afford. We have tried to find a home but this is a housing battlefield and we cannot play. We’ve half of what we need to get a place of our own. We owe nothing, we’ve always been perfect pay. Our 78-year-old had a stroke and is barely able to walk due to neuropathy in the legs. I am 64 and have had three major neck surgeries. I am in constant chronic pain.

Our rigs are on their last leg too.We’ve many small animals which we refuse to part

with as they are all part of our family. We feed the wild birds/turkeys, etc. and have for years.

We are all pretty depressed, as you can imagine. It has been very difficult to pack as we have nowhere in sight. Every time we decide to put in a bid or to look at a house, someone is behind us with cash. Our stomachs are raw. We need a house now! Any help is appreciated. Why is it that good people always seem to get the short end of the stick?

We have a wonderful full time Realtor but have nowhere to go. We have looked every single day for nearly two years.

We thank you for caring and for reading our story. We are really desperate. None of us are too happy. We have our faith and pray for a miracle. It is never fun asking for what you don’t have.

The house(s) that we need is simply out of our reach. We need a 4 (+) (sizable) bedroom with at least two bathrooms and a garage and/or perhaps a small barn for storing a couple of vehicles, etc. It would be nice to have a couple of acres. We want to remain in Cheshire county if possible but would consider other options. We are currently in a five bedroom, four bath right now with a barn and shed on many acres. It is beautiful. We’re sorry to say goodbye, but it is in the cards.
