All science teachers receive a free Peabody Museum membership.

Free guided tours at the Peabody Museum for all students K-12 are provided every year.

physics laboratory over the summer Summer internship opportunity for students who

participated in the Evolution Program Program for seniors at West Campus

High school biology students analyze the water quality and ecology of the Oyster River at the West Campus site. (Annual event)

Girls' Science Investigations (grades 6-8) Saturday program for a total of 4-5 sessions at no cost to

students. Science Saturdays (grades 7 and above).

Grade 5 All students participated in the Color and Light

Institute at Yale Peabody and will do it again next year. Trip was organized by the grade five teachers together with the help of the science facilitator Jeanne Vauiso.

Grade 6 Geology Program at Peabody Grade 6 teachers attended a 1 day Geosciences

Institute at the Peabody Museum on 3/31.

All grade 5 students have been attending a half day college visit to the Yale Campus. The event takes place every year in June, so far 2,000 students have visited.

Wetlands program for the spring session for grade 4 Most of grade 3 students participated in the Rocks and Minerals

Institute this year. We will have all grade 3 students participate next year. Science facilitators will work with Tom Parlapiano on the planning and schedule.

Tom Parlapiano will work with grades 1-2 visiting students on their next unit of studies on plants.

Tom Parlapiano will continue to work with K-2 students on the nature walk program in the spring

Geoscience Institute • Participating teachers will receive:

• FREE 3-day summer institute, field trip and curriculum guide• 2.0 CEUs• $200 stipend available after teaching and assessing the

complete module• Funds to cover transportation for one field trip for one class

during the school year• Free class visit to the Yale Peabody Museum• Free Yale Peabody Museum Family membership

NASA Institute • Participating teachers will receive:

• FREE 3-day summer institute, including morning coffee and lunch

• Set of standards-based classroom activities with accompanying Solar Science kit

• 200 stipend after teaching and assessing the complete set of activities in your classroom

• Free admission AND funds to cover bus transportation for two field trips during the school year

• 2.0 CEUs from Yale University
