Targets and Aspirations• Students have been set Fischer Family Trust Type D targets
(FFT(D)).• FFT(D) is used in nearly all secondary schools in England and
forms part of the CVA calculation process.• The targets are meant to be challenging and aspirational• The targets are based on KS2 scores and suggest outcomes for
the average student.• We firmly believe that this is not an average school and we
will work with your child to achieve their full potential• How should you discuss targets with your child?

• Parent’s Evening Thursday 19th Jan 4.30pmOpportunity to discuss your child’s most recent Assessment Data, raise any concerns or ask questions as to possible 6th form options.

Assessments and exams• Controlled and modular assessments
• MathematicsSets 2/3 Sit Unit 1 for Mathematics and GCSE Statistics in June.Set 1 Sit Unit 2 in November then Unit 3 in June to complete GCSE Mathematics.
• English Sit English Language in June (Controlled assessements to be completed during the year)
• Science Working towards double or triple award (to be decided by October half term).
• MFL and Humanities Accelerated students will sit exams next June (MFL orals in April)
• GCSE examinations begin w/c 14th May 2012.

Supporting your child• Tell us about any issues by contacting tutor or HAL
• Avoid leave of absence during term time
• Check planner and be encouraging with homework
• Discuss targets and assessment grades with your child. If they are not on target, do they know how to rectify the situation? Students have to take some responsibility for their learning.
