u We follow a scheme of work based developed byMargaret Carswell.

u Our first topic this term is ‘In the Beginning’. We are learning about the Creation story and how God is celebrated through prayer.

Physical Education (P.E.)

u P.E. lessons are currently on Wednesdays and Fridays.

u We are also doing the Daily Mile.

The children must bring their PE kit to school on Wednesday and wearit to school on Friday

u In Year 3, all the children will be learning to play the recorder.

u We have a limited number of recorders in school for children to borrow, but many parents choose to buy their own, for hygiene reasons!

u The children will make much faster progress if they practiseat home!

How can you help?

u Spend regular time reading with your child at home.

u Practise their spellings and times tables with them.

u Discuss what they are learning at school.

u Guided reading homework will be sent home after half-term so please encourage your child to complete this.

u Be punctual in the mornings.

u Give your child a reusable bottle of water (with sports top) to bring to school and a piece of fruit for morning break.

u Encourage your child to take part in extra curricular activities.

u Try not to compare your child to others - they will achieve their best!
