“Ambush from Ten Sides” is a traditional Chinese piece of

music written for the pipa. In this piece, performed by the

pipa player Wu Man we hear the battle of Gaixia fought between

Xiang Yu, the King of the Chu people and Liu Bang King of the

Han people. Wu Man makes battle sounds using her pipa.

We hear the sounds of swords, horses, cannons, battle drums,

soldiers yelling and battle horns.
