“Life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent of how I react to it” (Charles Swindall)
This is one of my favourite quotes when I work with students and sporting athletes. We have to look at what is happening and decide how we are going to react. If we give in, don’t work, don’t support our family and be selfish to
our own feelings we are going to be living negatively. If we look at the situation and support our family, carry on with school work, remain positive,
talk through our feelings and love our families we are going to living positively.
I want you to think about how the last 5 weeks have been for you and how have you reacted to what is happening.
Could you have reacted differently?

Keeping yourself Physically fit during lockdown
Mr Pomeroy PE Advice • Try to have a balanced diet and not to snack on fatty or bad foods.• Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night (not going to bed late and getting up
late)• Drink lots of water.• Make the most of your exercise time outside. Challenge yourself to walk a
certain distance or run to a set point. I recently ran 5k in 22 minutes, Any one beat me.
• Joe Wicks is carrying out some amazing exercises every morning on YouTube. Just type joe wick into your Youtube on phone or smart TV.
• Hard exercise not for you, YouTube have some excellent yoga, aerobics and varied exercises for you to do at your finger tips.

How to use a routine to support your learning
One way of taking control of our wellbeing is to actively step up and devise a self-care routine during the lockdown – helping us keep on top of things while safely spending time at home alone.
Top Tips
1. Add structure to your day be creating a timetable (similar to school) for you to follow. The use of to do lists can also help you structure your day.
2. Try to balance out your hard school work with play. I've been making the most of online quizzes with my friends around the world.
3. Make the most of your exercise time outside. Exercise can support out mental well being.
4. Try not to watch the news all the time, this can be repetitive but also negative towards your goals of being productive during lockdown.
5. Share work that you have done well with people in your household and most importantly your school teachers. Its ok to show off your hard work.
