    Cycling Australia Road

    National Championships

    Be in Ballarat in early January to witness a

    world-class field of Australia's greatest cycling

    starts battle it out for the green and gold

    Australian jersey at the 2015 Cycling Australia

    Road National Championships.

    The Nationals provide an opportunity to witness

    four days of high class cycling action. Specifically,

    the Buninyong road circuit is regarded as one of

    the top road racing circuits in Australia.

    Bike Buller MTB FestivalThe Bike Buller MTB Festival brings all that is great

    about mountain biking to one spectacular location

    for a massive weekend of riding, single track, bikes,

    Buller in the breathtaking Victorian Alps coincides

    with the renowned 'Picnic in the Park' food, wine &

    Scody 3 Peaks

    ChallengeOver 1,500 cyclists from around the globe will

    rise to the challenge and take on one of the

    world's toughest and most picturesque cycling

    events in the Victorian Alps, Bicycle Network's

    3 Peaks Challenge.

    The 235-kilometre loop, provides cyclists with

    a course that is so epic it's comparable to a

    Tour de France mountain stage, with three

    major climbs: Tawonga Gap, Mount Hothamand Falls Creek.

    Baw Baw ChallengeThe Baw Baw Challenge gives cyclists the

    opportunity to test themselves on a variety ofchallenging terrain and experience

    magnificent scenery as they pass through the

    Baw Baw Shire.

    Both the 119 kilometre and 70 kilometre courseoptions start and finish in Warragul and travel

    through the towns of Trafalgar, Willow Grove,

    Hill End, Noojee and Neerim South.

    This ride is bound to challenge riders of allabilities offering the chance to test yourself on

    some of Australia's most undulating and

    challenging climbs. Please note the course

    does not include the Mt Baw Baw climb.

    Whittlesea ChallengeMay

    The Whittlesea Challenge is a fully supported

    recreational bike ride organised by Cycling

    Victoria, the peak governing body for both

    organised competitive and recreational cycling

    within Victoria. Cycling Victoria is an affiliate ofCycling Australia and the International Cycling

    Union.

    The 110km and 68km courses include

    undulating terrain and breathtaking viewsacross the Kinglake National Park; this ride is

    available for cyclists of all fitness levels and will

    push cyclists to their limits.

    TOUR OF THE MURRAY

    RIVER

    July

    The Tour of the Murray is a six day, seven staged

    tour that will weave its way along the famous

    Murray River, straddling the border of New South

    Wales and Victoria.

    Beginning in the stunning township of Mildura,

    riders will traverse a total of 705 kilometres,

    touching many areas including Robinvale,

    Quambatook, Kerang, Cohuna, Echuca, Nathalia

    and Cobram. Two fast and furious criteriums will

    be held in Swan Hill and Yarrawonga

    The Amys Gran Fondo

    September

    A Gran Fondo meaning great endurance refers to

    a long distance walking or cycling event. The only

    Australian event with a fully closed road, Amys

    Gran Fondo holds competitions for both men and

    women in nine different age categories.

    Covering 110km with up to 10% gradients, this

    event, taking place in lorne *140km from

    Melbourne, will challenge riders of all ages and skilllevels.

    The Dirty Gran Fondo

    Double CrossThis Mountain Bike Australia event requires an

    MTBA membership or a day license to compete.

    A day license can be purchased during registration

    or at the event.

    The race is through the Bunyip National Park

    starting from Gembrook, just an hours drive from

    Melbourne. Both 60km and 30km options are

    possible in different categories based on the type of

    bike you will be riding.

    Great East Rail Trail Ride

    october

    The Great East Rail Trail Ride is a gentle journey

    on the 100 km East Gippsland Rail Trail. No traffic.

    Gentle hills. Forest, farmland and friendly country

    towns. Picnics by river, lake and vines.

    The Great East Rail Trail Ride is a fully supported

    three day cycle event along the 100 km East

    Gippsland Rail Trail. This is a little Great Ride, with

    numbers limited to 120 - to ensure a splendid time

    is had by all.

    Buxton Boothcamp

    The Buxton Bootcamp will once again host the

    finale of the Victorian Enduro Mountain BikeSeries. You can enter solo, pairs or triples by

    completing laps of the 13 kilometre fast flowing

    single-track within six hours, or as a solo

    competitor three hours.

    This course has had fantastic reviews and plenty

    of visits, with sections such as Turtle Crossing, Off

    Camber and Spider Gully being cheered about.

    This is an event for medium to elite level mountain

    bikers, with the shorter three hour race

    recommended for those at entry level.

    Tour of Bright

    December

    Tour of Bright is an annual event made up for

    three stages. All including stunning scenery that

    rivals the Tour de France.

    This event is a must do on the cycleenthusiast's calendar. The event is capped at

    550 riders, ensure that you register asap as

    spaces fill very quickly.

    RACV Great Victorian

    Bike Ride

    The RACV Great Victorian Bike Ride is a fun,

    friendly and challenging camping holiday. It's

    the opportunity to spend a week in another

    world, where you join our canvas community

    while exploring the beautiful Victoriancountryside by bike.

    Heading into its 31st year, the event is the

    largest multi-day ride in the Southern

    Hemisphere, and in 2014, we're heading toBright and the High Country to take on some

    of Victoria's most picturesque cycling routes.
