The Highland Heritage Estate vineyard is situated 900 metres on the Central Tablelands of NSW at Orange.

Orange is at the forefront of cool climate viticulture in Australia, where the cool temperatures during most of the growing season, coupled with dry autumn conditions, are ideal for growing grapes. The fruit ripens slowly intensifying colour and flavour, ideal for premium winemaking.

The Horseshoe vineyard was established in the Hunter Valley in 1969 by the Hordern family. They had the foresight to plant Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz, the best varieties from the Hunter. John Hordern is the third generation of his family to make wine on the property and both his sons are now also winemakers, making them the fourth. Quite an achievement for any family. Fruit from family friends who also own vineyards, are used to fill out the range for the these award winning wines.

Lambrusco is the name of both a red wine grape and an Italian wine. The grapes and the wine originate from four zones in the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy . Famous for its food and wine culture. The best examples are the frothy, slightly sparkling red wines which are designed to be drunk young. The Wines can be dry but are more often seen as sweet or “Dolce”. The wines are bright, food-friendly, low in alcohol and superbly refreshing.

Penmara (Pen from the Greek prefix Penta for 5 and Mara an Aboriginal word for 5 fingers) was formed when 5 family owned vineyards joined forces so as to gain greater control over our wine making and distribution activities. Based in the Hunter Valley of Australia, with vineyards also in the cool climate Orange region, Penmara can draw on almost 400 acres of vineyards. These vineyards, of different climates and soil types are all low yielding, providing our winemaking team the quality, as well as the diversity, that is vital in consistently producing quality wine.
