A STORY OF ENCOUNTERS
YellowKorner was created in 2006 by two French friends, Alexandre de Metz and Paul-Antoine Briat, both lovers of photography from a young age. !Alexandre de Metz is a photography and music enthusiast. Parallel to studying law, he shadowed René Martin, a great organiser of classical music concerts and creator and organiser of the ‘La Folle Journée’. He thus accompanied him all around the world, an experience which led him to consider the affordability of art in general : « How can art be made more democratic…? ». !Paul-Antoine Briat was born in a family of entrepreneurs and started his career in an investment fund in New York and London. He always intended to develop his own concept and expand it worldwide. !Meeting Alexandre de Metz and discovering their shared passion for photography led to a project which turned into an adventure : !The creation of YellowKorner in 2006.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
YellowKorner’s ambition is to promote art photography through the introduction of the greatest photographers from all over the world. !Our galleries are sites of exchange between the public and the artists, exhibiting and commercializing art photographs of more that 200 artists, provided in limited editions and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. !Our goal is to promote talents from different photographic trends whilst ensuring the highest artistic standards. Promising contemporary artists are therefore found alongside big names in photography. !For YellowKorner, they have exceptionally agreed to increase the number of prints of a selection of their work in order to make it accessible to a large number of collectors. !The prints are exclusive to YellowKorner.

YellowKorner wants to provide a place for talents from different photography trends to be expressed. The only constant is the artistic excellence required to feature in the YellowKorner collections. !Contemporary artists are therefore found alongside the greatest names in photography (Eugene Atget, Man Ray, Dorothea Lange, Jean Dieuzaide, Bert Stern, Yann Arthus-Bertrand), as well as period photographers (the primitive Japanese Kimbei, Nadar, Leon Gimpel). !Yellow Korner photographs are selected by a committee composed of twelve experts under the authority of the founders. Each member of this committee is a specialist of a particular photographic trend from 1880 to today. As talent spotters, they are also responsible for selecting international young hopefuls in the world of art photography, among the most talented artists of their generation. !YellowKorner intends to be a springboard for young photographers as well as to promote internationally renowned photographers.
