    Ecological Cities as Economic Cities (Eco2 Cities)-Best Practices in Urban Development and Management-

    Yokohama was nominated by the World Bank asone of the first six Eco2 Cities, which display thebest global practices for balance of ecologicalsustainable development and economic urbangrowth.

    Yokohama is highly evaluated for its variouspractices aiming to develop cities in harmony withthe environment and the economy, such as forwaste management (G30). The first Eco2 Citiesinternational conference was held in Yokohama in

    October 2010.

    Other Eco2 Cities: Curitiba (Brazil), Stockholm (Sweden), Singapore, Brisbane (Australia),Auckland ( New Zealand)
