Sport Term 4 Sport is beginning TOMORROW—Friday 12th October. We are pleased to report that 99% of students were placed in their 1st preference for this term. It was disappoin ng that we could not run a Yoga class. This was caused by a combina on of lack of stu-dent response and Karen (our usual yoga teacher) has gone back to school herself this term.  Guitar— Michel is looking for more guitar students. If anyone is interested phone him on 0403 700 157. Michel Voets is at school on Thurs-days and provides one on one lessons in guitar and electric bass. We do have guitars for hire at a cost of $10 per term if you would like to give it a try. Keyboard & Piano— Enrol now for Term 4. Lessons at school on Wednesdays in a fun, crea ve environment. Call Joanne on 0422 562 179 or email [email protected]. Life Educa on Van—Healthy Harold The Life Educa on Van is visi ng our school next Wednesday, Thursday and the following Monday. Permission/informa on notes have gone home with students. This a fantas c educa onal resource which has different programs for all ages. There is also a free parent session on Wednesday 17th Oct at 1.15 to 2.45pm. Timetable for classes is as follows.

ICAS—Mathema cs Last term we had several students enter the Interna onal Com-pe ons and Assessments for Schools in Mathema cs. Principal’s Comment

Dear Parents/Guardians, Welcome Back I hope you all had a relaxing and rewarding break and got to spend some quality family me. It’s good to see all the smiling happy faces of your children back on deck for an-other term. This one will be as busy as all the rest with end-of-year reports, so ball trips, DOC’s, senior camps, learn to swim and end-of-year func ons to name but a few. With your usual support we’ll breeze through the next 11 weeks and it will be Christmas before we know it. Kindies Begin Their Journey Our next year’s kindy students had the opportunity to a end their first orienta on on Tuesday. It’s always great to see the innocence, excitement and expecta on on the new young faces – and the kids looked that way too. I met many of the new parents and most of the new students and they look like a fantas c bunch. As usual it’s always nice to see some familiar faces. That you choose to trust your child’s educa on with us is a great honour and a responsibility we don’t take lightly. Senior Excursions Fundraising is about to begin to help our yr 5 and 6 stu-dents supplement the cost of their excursions to Sydney (year 6) and Mebbin Springs Adventure Camp (year 5). These experiences are paramount to the students’ devel-opment and sense of worth. If you are approached by one of them to buy a raffle cket please try to help out. There are some great prizes with a weekend (2 or 3 nights) at Somerset Dam Holiday Park, a couple of meals at estab-lishments around the area and even a brand new Gray-Nicholls, full size cricket bat. So ballers in Final Prepara on Stage Our talented girls’ so ball team are in the final prepara-

on stage for their lt at the tle of North Coast Champi-ons against Kempsey East next week. As well as the excitement of the game the team is looking forward to their trip to Kempsey, an overnight stay at Crescent Head and their ba le on the so ball diamond the next day. They are pu ng in a lot of work and we wish them all the best.

Looking at Small Things Thanks to Tony from Natraspray who not only eradicated our cockroaches over the holidays but has donated a mi-croscope to the school. It has been placed in Mr Stenner’s room and I’m sure the kids will get a lot of use out of it.

Yr 6 off to High School Next week our year 6 students will get to spend a day at Mullum High par cipa ng with other year 6 students from around the Brunswick Valley in an art experience day. This will give them all a taste of the wonderful oppor-tuni es they will get at their local high school as well as a chance to begin to form new friendships with students from other schools. Exci ng mes for our school leaders.

Have a good week. Mick
