ADDENDUM # 1 The Drawings, Specifications, and Contract documents on the project are modified, corrected, supplemented, and/or superseded as hereinafter described. It will be construed that each bidder’s proposal is submitted with full knowledge of all modifications and supplemental data specified herewith. This addendum may effect pricing. Failure to acknowledge this addendum may be cause for rejection of bid. QUESTIONS: Item 1: Question: After a quick view of this it asks for Cat5 not Cat6 for the cameras which is unusual.
Answer: That is correct provide Cat5E per the documents. Item 2: Question: It also asks for Version 5 of the Avigilon software which as of last week is now end of
life.
Answer: Provide most recent version of the Avigilon software. Item 3: Question: The Sheet T5.1 wiring descriptions indicate that all device cabling should be pulled to
the Access control panel in the designated TR. The Sheet 5.2 Typicals show the wiring running to a junction box and an access control composite cable run between the junction box and the access control panel in the designated TR. Which is the correct wiring, and which contractor will be responsible for providing and installing the composite cable? The Structured Cabling Contractor?
Answer: Both are correct, all wiring is to be run from the TR rooms access control panel to the junction
box at the door using composite cable. From there individual wiring is run to the appropriate devices per the door diagram. The Structured Cabling contractor is responsible for running wiring from the devices to the security control panel by way of the junction box.
Item 4: Question: The Sheet T5.1 wiring descriptions indicate that the ADA door actuator buttons are to
be pulled to the Access control panel in the designated TR. The Sheet 5.2 Typicals show the wiring running to the Automatic Opener above the door. Please confirm that the cables for the Actuators are to be pulled to the Automatic Opener where they will be integrated with the Access Control System.
Answer: ADA door actuator buttons are to be wired back to the automatic opener at the door in order to allow the door to function. This cable will be run by the door hardware installer. Wiring then will also need to be run by the security contractor from the security control panel back to the door operator / and or actuator button to allow disabling of the exterior actuator button.
Item 5: Question: Also, the specifications indicate the use of either model 920P or 920L card readers.
920L readers would only be necessary if Indala access cards are in use. Will the new system require the use of Indala cards, or should only standard prox readers (Model 920P) be provided?
Answer: The College is not using the Indala card media, so the standard 920P model will be fine.

Item 6: Question: Please confirm quantity of new Knox Box to be one (1). Answer: Confirmed there will be one (1) Knox Box. Item 7: Question: Please confirm quantity of roller blinds to be one (1), which appears to be located at
Opening 2696. Answer: Confirmed there will be one (1) roller blind. Item 8: Question: Per site visit, carpeted areas that will be impacted by project scope appears to be
broadloom. Please confirm this is to be Owner-supplied, Contractor installed?
Answer: Broadloom carpet is to be supplied by the Owner and installed by the Contractor per section 096816 of the specifications. New walk off carpet will be supplied and installed by the Contractor.
Item 9: Question: Is existing storefront system dark bronze or black? re: 7/A8.2. Answer: The storefront at 7/A8.2 is to be dark bronze. Item 10: Question: Is new glazing to have security mesh to match existing?
Answer: No glazing is not to be wire glass, it is to be provided in accordance with the glazing schedule on sheet A9.1.
Item 11: Question: Are there any “non-work” days (ie: campus closures) that need to be considered in the
project schedule?
Answer: The campus will be closed from December 25, 2018 to January 1, 2019. Item 12: Question: Are new doors/frames sized to fit existing openings where replacement is to occur or
is the expectation that drywall/paint repairs will be required at each opening?
Answer: Doors and frames are sized to fit existing opening. We anticipate the need for gypsum board and paint repair at all new frames based on damage from demolition of old frames and the need to provide proper anchorage to existing substrates.
Item 13: Question: Shall GC include cost(s) for job-site trailer and restroom facilities or may campus
facilities by utilized by trades?
Answers: Contractors are to provide their own job site trailer and storage facilities outside of the building. The existing building will not be available for storage of tools and materials or for conducting administrative activities. The buildings toilet facilities will be made available for use by construction personnel.
Item 14: re: Spec Section 084113. Is the five (5) year warranty period a manufacturer & workmanship
warranty, or just manufacturer’s?
Answer: This is a manufacturer’s warranty that covers materials and workmanship from the manufacturer.
Item 15: Question: Is Owner carrying cost(s) for permitting? a. What is the status of project permit?

Answer: The Owner will be providing all costs as they relate to the general building permit, this process is underway. Each trade is responsible for paying for and obtaining their individual permits (State Electrical permit as an example).
Item 16: Question: Is Builder’s Risk insurance cost(s) to be carried by the GC or by Owner? Specs note
that on projects with a completed value of less than $1,000,000.00 the Owner may elect to provide.
Answer: Builders risk will be carried by the General Contractor. The Owner will not be electing to
