Printed DIY top Tools and materials: Working surface (ceramic tile, glass tile, cardboard piece) Rubber gloves Brushes T-shirt (cotton) Glass of water Little tray for bleach Bleach (I used Domestos) Promarkers or fabric markers Hot glue crystals Tweezers Lighter Hello my sweet honey bunnies and welcome to MyMandarinDucky. Today I am going to show you how to make a handmade printed top by using just a bleach and Promarkers. For this tutorial we will need a ceramic tile, a rubber glove, some brushes in different sizes, a simple T-shirt which you will use as canvas, a cup of water and a little tray for bleach and of course the bleach. Here I am using Domestos. You need to start with pulling your top over the tile. If you don’t have a tile, you can use a glass, maybe some cardboard, but the main idea is so that we have the front part of the top separated from the back part. So as you can see I put the Domestos inside the glass, I diluted it a little bit with water so it is a bit more liquid and now it’s ready for drawing. The main idea here is to create outlines and perhaps to fill in some parts with more bleach if you know that they supposed to be white. My design here is graphical, so I am only drawing outlines of a leaf, a feather and a little tree branch with leafs. If you want to go crazy or abstract you can cover separate zones with bleach in full, draw stripes, lines, and circles. Basically whatever you like. I am only showing you how this cool and cheap technique works! Now I am working on creating stars that shine in the sky. And to finish up this stylish top I would like to finish this stage with the writing! “Wild spirit” When you are happy with the bright outline of your design or at least you think that something may come out from it later then you go to your bathroom, fill up your sink or a bath tray with water and rinse it properly. I prefer to stretch and straighten it while it’s wet because I hate ironing. After that leave it to dry for a couple of hours or days depending on your weather. Now that it’s dry and you are excited - grab your pro markers (or if you have some fabric markers that’s even better!) and start playing around. I only had some green-turquoise tones and one old brown Promarker. So I used those! To be honest there is no rule how to do that. I just improvised completely! When trying to make shadows - follow the easiest rule of primitive drawing. If there is a shadow on the left, then there can’t be a shadow on the right… Well, maybe only if you want to :) Adding up a dark outline and a shadow really brings the whole design out. Also if you create some lines, dots or prints, you can use the contrasting color to give it more definition, to outline it. And to create a shadow you just need to make a couple of hundreds short marker strokes. Just a couple Then you can use dots, circles... basically it’s like drawing or doodling, but on fabric. Anything works! When that is done you can play with the filling colors. If you are struggling with drawing nature shapes and elements, the best way is to do a Google research. That always helps! This part is optional, but I decided to add up some hot iron metallic studs. Secretly, I hate irons because they always burn me, so instead I used my fancy lighter and applied each stud one by one! Use tweezers to hold your studs or crystals otherwise lighter won’t be kind to your hands, too! Heat up for 1-2 seconds and stick it quickly where it belongs. If you are less than 18 years old, then please seek assistance. This it and here I am posing away to show you my great artwork :) Please comment below, like this video and definitely share it if you think it can help someone to create some badass clothes. Don’t forget to check out my other videos, as they are quite cool and creative, too. I hope you enjoy! Good luck and I will see you soon! Bye! www.youtube.com/mymandarinducky www.mandarin-duck.com
