You will almost certainly now be aware that public worship and all other activities and events have been suspended by The Methodist Church, to try to restrict the spread of COVID-19. I am hopeful that with the LMA Newsletter you have received a copy of the Prayer Booklet that you are invited to use as a resource during this time that we are physically unable to meet together to offer our praise and prayers to God. If you need more copies of the Prayer Booklet please leave me an answerphone message with your address and I will drop extras through your letterbox. If you currently dont have your own copy of Singing the Faith (words) you can order them from Christian Resources for Life (www.crfl.co.uk) online or by ringing 01782 212146. They are £10 each with £3 for postage. As time moves on we are hopeful to have the opportunity to gather together once more—I am looking at outdoor venues(!) —this is all dependant upon Government advice as each day passes. Keep an eye out on the noticeboards at church if you are passing by, or on emails or phone messages. I want to encourage those of you on email and the internet to pass messages to those not on email—and those of you not on email to phone someone who is, and ask to be kept in the loop. If you are on email and I dont have your email address, please let me have it if you wish to be included in the bulletins ([email protected]). W e will try to send out email bulletins as necessary—if you have good news stories to share with us then please let David Westhead have them and he may produce a Good NewsSheet. If you are in need of a phone chat or prayer or help, please speak to your Pastoral Friend in the first instance and we will help as much as we can. Pastoral Secretaries should you need them are Nan Watson for Shavington and Linda Kellett for Wells Green. If you wish to still maintain your regular giving to the church but havent got a standing order set up, the Treasurers would be pleased to help you with this, or to receive cheques from you as your offertory. Their details are below: Cyril Cooper 212210 (Shavington and Betley) Margaret Penaluna 567240 (Willaston) David Westhead 500336 (Wells Green) (We offer the above as a suggestion dependent upon your own personal circumstances—we are acutely aware that we will be receiving very little income indefinitely and every gift of regular giving helps the churches to be able to continue and survive—Thank You if you are able to continue your regular giving in this way).

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Greetings and peace to you from my home to yours.

I will be personally praying each day for all of you, and I invite you to do the same and pray for each other and those in greatest need in these days. I invite you to pray the Lord’s Prayer daily at 12noon. Please do keep in touch with each other—those churches with Pastoral Friends, I understand are going to keep in contact with those on their pastoral lists, and Willaston (who don’t have a Pastoral Committee due to their size) are keeping an eye on each other. If you are isolated due to illness and can’t get out to get supplies or medicines, please let me know and, presuming that I’m not self isolated, I’ll help if I can. As we journey on through this challenging time we continue to put our trust in the God who created us and the universe, and we remember the words of this hymn:

‘Tis Jesus, the first and the last, Whose Spirit shall guide us safe home;

We’ll praise Him for all that is past And trust Him for all that’s to come.

(Joseph Hart)

With love and prayers, Revd Den Harding

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WORSHIP
On a Sunday at 10.30am and 6pm and at any other day or time you choose, prepare yourself for worship. Perhaps place a lit candle in the
centre of a room on a table.
Have your Bible and hymn book by your side. (All hymns listed overleaf are from Singing the Faith)
Read through the liturgy in advance and decide which set of prayers you will use (I will use (A) in a morning and (B) in an evening).
If you are sharing the service with other people in your household then perhaps decide who will read what—
