With so many courses to choose from, it can be an overwhelming time for students and parents.
Top Tips for filling out your CAO form
THINK PREFERENCE, NOT POINTS:List your courses in order ofpreference, not based on how manypoints you think you’ll get.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE: Thinkabout the subjects you enjoy, andare good at – this is a good placeto start.
LOCATION, LOCATION,LOCATION: Think about thecollege location that workswell for you and your family.
ASK QUESTIONS: Research yourcourse and college choices withfriends, relatives, and bycontacting the colleges directly –people will be happy to help.
DON’T LEAVE ANY BLANKS: Remember you can get two offers from the CAO – one at Level 6/7 and one at Level 8. So, make sure to fill out both lists on your CAO form.Once in GMIT, you can use GMIT’s Progression Routes to move from one level to the next.
