Our full-day English Academy programme combines academic study with fun learning methods and a variety of extra-curricular activities and excursions.

Our Young Learner Academy courses take place in our summer centre, Upton Vale Church - just a 5 minute walk from our main school. More information can be found on our website: https://tisenglish.co.uk/courses/juniors/

WHAT IS INCLUDED

At Torquay International School we have been providing English

language tuition for over 40 years. Our aim has always been the same:

to help our students achieve their aims in a professional and friendly

Our Young Learner Academy is designed to develop the four language skills in an enjoyable and engaging environment.

We use a combination of in-house and published materials with the interests of students firmly at the heart of our course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will develop the confidence to initiate conversations, express themselves with increasing accuracy both in the spoken and written word, and expand their vocabulary at an appropriate level.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Young Learners can go on to study for the Starters, Movers and Flyers Cambridge Young Learners Examinations, or, the KET, PET and FCE for Schools qualifications for older Young Learners.

PROGRESSION ROUTES

Torquay is the largest town on the area of coastline known as the English Riviera. The town offers excellent shopping and leisure

opportunities, an attractive harbour and fantastic golden sandy beaches.

Torquay is also part of a UNESCO-listed coastal Geopark.

You will be inducted into the school before meeting your leader who will guide you around Torquay.

SaturdayNewquay + Surfing

Travel with us to the UK’s surfing capital, Newquay! We provide all the equipment you need so you can relax and have the best day of your trip. Take part in a two-hour surfing lesson, followed by free time to explore the beautiful beaches and trendy surf shops of the town.
