Your comment needed:Report Shows Evergy’sExpensive Coal Fleet BadFor RatepayersA new study by the Sierra Club found thatWestar/Evergy's expensive coal fleet is bad forKansas and Missouri ratepayers and will losehundreds of millions on coal power relative tomarket energy pricing. Evergy provides poweracross eastern Kansas and western Missouriunder the KCP&L and Westar brands, and whilethey double down on dirty energy, we pay theprice.
Now, the Kansas Corporation Commission isrequiring Westar/Evergy to develop a new long-range plan. Your voice will make a difference inholding them accountable for their expensive, dirty coal power, so please leave a comment byclicking below.

CRAIG VOLLAND, AIR QUALITY AND AG COMMITTEE CHAIR
In July, the Kansas Health Institute issuedtheir analysis of the scientific literature onhow climate change might impact Kansas.Because the range of effects becomes lesscertain when one focuses on smallergeographical areas, it’s not possible to besure what will happen between now andthe end of this century. Nonetheless theKHI does a good job of narrowing therange of likely impacts on agriculture, airquality and public health. Impacts will alsodiffer from west to east sections of thestate.
