Nielsen Answers Portal
The Nielsen Answers Portal provides you with easy access to view or download pre-formatted Your Pharmacy Matters reports. To work in Nielsen Answers Portal, users require a PC with internet access and the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (Version 8.0 or above). Each user of the service is required to register a unique email account and password for access to the Nielsen Answers Portal. : If you have not registered your email for access to the Your Pharmacy Matters service, please contact your Nielsen representative

ACCESSING NIELSEN ANSWERS PORTAL
1. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer
2. Go to the Nielsen Australia home page (http://www.nielsen.com/au)
3. Click the Client Login link
4. Enter your registered email and password
5. From the My Tools menu, select eReporting

Opening, navigating and viewing analyses
SCREEN NAVIGATION
1. Data Context
Select service / channel and swap between categories
2. Content Explorer Navigate to available analyses (reports)
3. Content Viewer Area where an analysis can be viewed and where the initial homepage thumbnails reside
4. Content Viewer Toolbar Swap between report pages or views and access functions such as “Show additional outputs” 5. Full Screen Toggle Bar Toggle between full screen and regular view for a larger content viewer area

ANALYSIS NAVIGATION
When first opened, the service displays a thumbnail view of all available analyses in the content viewer. To return to this view at any time, click the “Market Information Digest” title bar in the content explorer.
1. From the first dropdown box in the Data Context, select the Australia Your Pharmacy Matters service
2. The second dropdown box directs users to either Nielsen Insights or Pharmacy Market Data

Nielsen Insights contains periodically updated presentations / reference materials related to the Australian pharmacy channel.
To download and access these presentations, click on the Nielsen Insights icon or the analysis name
A window will prompt users to either Open, Save or Cancel the selected presentation
3. If a user selects Pharmacy Market Data, the third dropdown becomes active.
Users may select All Defined or a specific category for which various analyses may be viewed.
4. Press the Apply button to switch the focus to a selected category
5. Available analyses (reports) are listed in the content explorer and also as icons in the content viewer

6. Single click any analysis name or icon to display the related report in the content viewer
7. Content viewer toolbars allow navigation across various measures and dimensions
8. View additional information for the active category by selecting additional analyses from the content explorer

Saving analyses to Excel
SHOW ADDITIONAL OUTPUTS
To save any analysis in Microsoft Excel,
1. Ensure the analysis is displayed on-screen
2. Click the Show additional outputs icon in the content viewer toolbar
3. The content viewer toolbar is replaced with a Show navigator icon and an Excel icon
4. Click the Show navigator (first) icon to return to the content viewer toolbar page OR... Click the Excel icon to be prompted to Open, Save or Cancel the file.
The file that is generated will be for the current analysis only. Within the Excel file, ALL views will be saved. Eg. National + 5 states x 2 measures (Value & Units)

Below is an example of the Table of Contents as seen in a saved Excel analysis
5. From this screen, users have the option of clicking on any link to go directly to that analysis view
6. To return to the Table of Contents, click on the Back To Contents link

Analyses and available facts
EREPORTING ANALYSES
The e-Reporting analyses provide a range of prepared, easy-to-use templates – a gateway to
understanding pharmacy channel category performance. This provides you the simplicity and
flexibility to answer questions across key category areas.
The analyses available by category include :
Category Performance (available only at “All Defined” level)
Subcategory Performance
Manufacturer Performance
Brand Performance
Top Item Ranking (not available for all categories)
BASIC FACTS
SALES
Sales are the Total Sales of the product or item sold and are represented in Value ($) or Units.
Basic Sales measures:
Value Sales (‘000): Total dollar sales ($) in thousands
Units Sales (‘000): Total unit sales in thousands
% SHARE
Share is a product’s contribution to total sales expressed as a percentage (%), eg. the percentage
of sales of a brand within a category.
Basic Share measures:
Value % Share: % of Total Value ($) sales
Units % Share: % of Total Unit (package) sales

PERCENTAGE CHANGE (GROWTH)
Percentage change is the percentage difference in sales in the focus period vs a comparison
period, for example, the percentage difference in sales for a brand in the latest year vs the
prior year
Basic Growth measures:
Value % Chg YA: Difference in Value ($) sales in the latest period vs year ago
Units % Chg YA: Difference in Unit sales in the latest period vs year ago
PRICE
The average selling price of a product for a product over a set timeframe
Basic Price measure:
Price per Unit: Total Value divided by Total Units
BASIC PERIODS
Analysis Periods:
MAT TY: Moving Annual Total This Year
A one year timeframe ending on a specified date
Qtr to xx\xx\20xx: Quarterly timeframe (13 weeks) ending on a specific date
