Expansion Plan for Milton Keynes Hospital on the HorizonMilton Keynes hospital chiefs have submitted a capital bid to the Department of Health worth £178 million.The bid would see a £40 million brand new ‘common front door’ bringing the current Urgent Care Centre and the A&E together, plus a £100 million ward block and a new car park.

Both Iain Stewart MP for MK South and I have been campaigning for a new A&E and we have given our complete support for the bid which is likely to be given the go ahead, subject to the completion of the MK Health Care review.We’re ambitious for MK and want to aim high and future proof our hospital for a growing population. Having campaigned tirelessly for an expansion of A&E and successfully delivered £2.9 million for 13 new bays, we want to go even further. Refurbishment of the reception area starts in two months’ time to build a new clinical area and the creation of a new spinal service are just some of the positive developments underway. This bid will enable our hospital to develop its clinical provision and give our healthcare professionals the support they rightly deserve in the years to come.

The aluminium framed sort are very sturdy and relatively cheap. Wooden ones are more attractive though and often better in a small garden where everything has to earn its keep. Western red cedar is good because it lasts a long time and weathers really well.Greenhouses are even more useful if they are

heated. I started out with paraffin heaters but found they produced a lot of condensation

and were messy and smelly. Electric heating is best and very economical if you fit a system thermostat so that it only switches on when necessary.Apart from heat the most important factor is ventilation. In high summer this is vital to prevent your plants from

cooking. Automatic arms which open the vents at a pre-designated temperature are

really useful. External blinds are also very good as they prevent sun scorch.

Finally, fit staging along one edge of the greenhouse for your pots, and dig a soil or gravel bed on the other side for things like tomato plants.

Now all you have to do is plant some seeds and invest in a few tender perennials.

im, myself and the kids, yes the kids, were invited to sample the delights of Mastee.

On a cold wet Thursday evening, a fabulous meal is always called for and that’s exactly what we got.

Welcomed by Taz, we all took over a corner of the beautifully decorated restaurant and instantly the kids were treated as humans. If you have children you’ll know they are not always welcome in some places, they are at Mastee.

On choosing our dishes the conversation soon turned to the hand paint mural created by an art student, if you only go to Mastee to see this you will not be disappointed, it’s stunning.

Dinner arrived, WOW, we were presented with a whole host of delicious colours

and smells.

On our menu we had, lollipop chicken, a taste sensation, sizzling Tandoori Chicken and for Harry, cheesy chips.

Yep, you read that right, cheesy chips. Not knowing if the spices and strong flavours would be to much for him we

opted for the safe option.

Cheesy chips are not on the menu, but seeing as we were

at Mastee nothing was to much trouble and even they were good.

Our started were awesome, definitely left us wanting the mains.

These were made up of Tandoori Jhinga (King Prawns). Chicken Tikka, and host of naan breads, and so much more. One of the best was the traditional Indian Cheese dish.

Again, WOW, what beautifully cooked food, so tender, flavorsome and superbly presented.

After filling our belly’s with a true taste of Indian cuisine we were kindly given a tour of the restaurant and even got to meet the chef and congratulate him on his culinary skills. I have no doubt there will be a few awards heading their way in the not so distant future.
