Suppose I told you that for 25 years we have had, at MTA, a faculty

member and administrator who not only has mastered the subject he teaches

so well (Modern European History), but reads prolifically, views an

extraordinary variety of films, mentors new teachers – and supports the rest

of us, attends parlor meetings for prospective new students, and speaks

Modern Hebrew with teachers and rebbeim. But that‟s not all.

Suppose I said that our students happily collect in his office for advice and

for fun, that they admire his style of dress, and that he helps make wondrous

student videos that poke fun at himself and others. And suppose I told you

he actually likes administrative duties, and has performed just about every

administrative function at MTA. And through it all, he smiles and smiles.

If I told you all that, you‟d say I‟m making it up, that‟s just an ideal model

teacher – a “man for all seasons”– that every school would love to have.

But you‟d be wrong, because it‟s all true. This incredible teacher,

administrator, and friend is our own Seth Taylor. I‟ve known him for all the

25 years he‟s been at MTA, and he‟s been all those wonderful things.

We have been, and are, so fortunate to have him at MTA.
