• Yukon'spopulationdeclinedalmoststeadilyfrom1999to2001,andthenfluctuatedaround30,000from2001to2003.

• From2004through2014,thepopulationincreasedalmoststeadilyinmostquartersofeveryyearexceptin2013.From2015onwards,theupwardtrendinpopulationgrowthgainedmomentumwithveryhighgrowthratesrecordedinmanyquarters,mostofthembeingin2016and2017.TheJune30,2019popula-tionat41,352isthenewrecord-highforYukon.

• OnJune30,2019,Yukon'spopulation(41,352),increasedby390people,or1.0%,fromMarch31,2019,andincreasedby709people,or1.7%,fromJune30,2018(revised40,643).

• incontrast,theproportionofpopulationintheagegroupof65+yearshassteadilyincreasedfrom8.2%ofthetotalpopula-tionin2009to13.2%in2019;anincreaseof4.9percentagepoints.

• OnJune30,2019,16.4%ofYukon'spopulationwasunder15yearsofage,70.4%wasbetween15and64years,and13.2%was65yearsofageorolder.

• Ten years earlier, on June 30, 2009, 16.7% ofYu-kon'spopulationwasunder15yearsofage,75.0%was between 15 and 64 years, and 8.2%was 65yearsandover.

• OnJune30,2019,Yukon'spopulationconsistedof21,010males(50.8%)and20,342females(49.2%).

• Tenyearsearlier,onJune30,2009,thegendergapwasslightlylarger:therewere17,407males(51.0%)and16,750females(49.0%).

Yukon'spopulationhasgrownandagedsince2009–particularlyasthebaby-boom(currentage54-73)andecho-boompopulations(currentage27-47)haveaged.Thesecombinedpopulationshavegrownby35.4%,whilethere-mainderofthepopulationhasgrownby5.6%.
