Z I N E S T O N ESURFACE PREPARATION

Any surface which shall be made ready to receiveZINE STONE surfaces should be free from dust,dirt, oils and debris. Ambient temperaturesshould be maintained between 10°C and 35°Cwhile any installation is taking place to ensureproper adhesive bonding.

HANDLING & STORAGE

ZINE STONE surfaces are sharp edged flexiblesheets which are made of 100% natural stone.Therefore, the following precautions are to beimplemented when shifting the sheets:

• All handlers are to wear cotton gloves• All sheets are to be carried individually• All sheets are to be carried from the long edge• Sheets of size 122 cm x 244 cm and above

should be handled by two persons

ZINE STONE should be stored horizontallystacked in the same format received within thedelivered pallets. The dedicated storage facilityshould be reasonably ventilated between 10°Cand 35°C and free of dampness/humidity.Storage of ZINE STONE stacks should not lastlonger than six months.

INSTALLATIONFabrication

ZINE STONE is a revolutionary range of naturalstone surfaces which can be applied nominallyfaster than average stone claddings with reducedefforts. All sheet ranges are below 6 mm thickwhich renders the process of cutting aroundsharp edges for sockets, switches and/orirregular parameters a relatively easy task.

To do so;Draw the desired sheet cutting detail which isrequired to be removed from the sheet using apencil and right angle.

Use a metal snipper or circular saw to cutthrough the desired outer edges of the sheet.

In order to cut through internal edges, use anangled grinder.

The thermoplastic resin backing used for ZINESTONE gives the sheet a unique capability ofundergoing forming treatment for applicationson sharp bends. To do so, apply heat evenlyacross the sheet for approximately 15 secondsusing a heat gun and bend the sheet in thedesired shape according to the receiving surface.

ApplicationOnce the sheet has been cut-out in the requireddimension:

WALL/CEILING APPLICATIONSTHIN / ULTRA THIN ZINE STONEUse a 2 mm notched trowel to spread a non-solventbased adhesive evenly on the back of the sheet

OR

Apply a neutral cure silicon evenly spaced at 8 cmapart trailed along the full width and length of thesheet

Ensure that the surface receiving the ZINE STONEsheet is free of dust particles and leveled with amaximum tolerance of 1mm to avoid air gaps andvisible joint problems. After pressing the sheetevenly against the receiving surface, use a flatrubber trowel to ensure that the ZINE STONE sheetis bonded properly to the receiving surface.

DECO-LIGHT ZINE STONEApply clear non-solvent based silicon to the edgesof the sheet which shall be framed in order to avoidopaque patterns when backlighting the surface

ACCENT ZINE STONEACCENT ZINE STONE is the easiest of all ZINE STONEproducts to apply.Start by peeling of the paper guard at the back ofthe ACCENT ZINE STONE sheet.Directly press the ready-to-fix sheet onto thereceiving surface and apply marginal pressure usinga flat rubber trowel. Caution, use of excessive forcewith the flat rubber trowel might chip edges of theACCENT ZINE STONE

JOINERY APPLICATIONSULTRA THIN ZINE STONEZINE STONE can also be applied to furniture articlesin the same fashion as PVC laminate pressings.ULTRA THIN ZINE STONE is the recommended sheetfor applications on wood, plasterboard, cementboards or metals. To bond the sheet to thereceiving surface, use a single component PU(polyurethane) adhesive and press the sheet withan insulated rubber pad for an average period of sixminutes under 80°C.

POST-INSTALLATIONAfter installing the ZINE STONE surfaces on thereceiving surface, apply a quality grade water basedpenetrating stone sealer to ensure the porosity ofthe sheet is controlled against oils and grease andto prevent sun spots.It is important to recognize that ZINE STONEsurfaces are made of 100% natural stone materials.Therefore, all surfaces, even if sealed, must bemaintained by regular cleaning using a quality gradegranite, quartz & stone cleaner every 30 days. It isrecommended to use a cleaning agent whichcontains a small amount of impregnator to ensurethe surface remains sealed.
