Come one, Come all to the celebration of Christ's birth! We will gather by 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 15th

to compile a Christmas dinner, household goods, fruit, gifts, and Christian literature for over a 100 families that

are in need from our Marengo-Union area. We need many volunteers to accomplish this. We need more

drivers. If you have a truck or SUV we could use your help. Drivers go in pairs to deliver the goods and it is always

a rewarding experience as well as a task of service. Everyone is welcome, we have those who shop, pack up the

boxes, break down boxes, and so many other things. It is a chance to have fellowship with others, to serve, and to

enjoy a luncheon following the deliveries. There is a sign up sheet in the binder within the church office. We

hope you can join us! If you can come before the event to set up around 8 a.m. your help would be greatly

appreciated. If you are donating a ham or turkey please bring it to the multi purpose kitchen before 9 a.m. on

Thursday, December 15th or call to make other arrangements. Thank you so much for all of the generosity

provided to the Love Project this year. It is such a blessing to have such a supportive church and school who loves

others with the love of Christ. Thank you for your prayers that we can touch many hearts this Christmas.

Ski As A Family

Sunday Nights 3pm-close

Alpine Valley Resort

We have the opportunity once again to ski as a group this year at Alpine Valley Resort. We will be skiing Sunday evenings from 3-10 p.m. The dates we plan to ski as a group are: January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26, 2016 weather providing. . There’s a one-time “club card” fee of just $18.00. This gets you $18.00 lift ticket, and $18.00 ski or snowboard rental on club night. Students can use this fabulous card and get the discounts after 3pm on Monday through Friday also. Again, this season students can come during holidays starting December 22 and use their club card (Yes that means through Christmas, excluding Saturdays and Christmas day).. In addition, the Student Program also includes one free lesson for any skill level on the school’s club night. Let’s not forget about the parents and adult family and friends. They can also come out and enjoy the fun for the $18.00 price but only on the school trip date. Adults need not purchase a club card if their child has one. New this year is food club cards available on club night only for $9 per card and to be redeemed the night of purchase. There are a few policies: 1. Every STUDENT or snowboarder will need to purchase a club card. DO NOT LOSE IT or you will have to pay another $18. Please show your card every time you ski. The card is for sale NOW from Stephanie Martin. CASH ONLY! (Alpine’s rule) 2. Every week you will need to fill out paperwork at Alpine. Every piece of paperwork costs $. If you make a mistake on rental forms or release of liability, still turn it in because they are numbered and there is a charge. 3. There is only 1 lesson included for free. If not there are also group lessons offered for $16 each. 4. All skiers/boarders will be tested and given the appropriate sticker. 5. Every skier will need to report to the group sales area each group night to get your lifts and forms. 6. Alpine Valley will only accept cash! No checks or credit cards. 7. Alpine offers a ski corral for all equipment for FREE so you will not have to worry about locking equipment up. 8. If skiing any other time than group night, just show your group ID card and go to the regular ticket window. You will not get group prices unless you have your group ID card!

This is a wonderful opportunity for family fun. We ask that parents be present during ski time. No child will be allowed to participate if a parent or guardian is not present. Parents need not ski. There is a very nice lodge to sit back and relax in. All family members are welcome to join us (older siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc.). There is an age requirement of 7 years old for lessons. This is not a Zion Lutheran School event therefore Zion is not providing

chaperones or responsible for any accidents. If you have any questions, please call Stephanie Martin 815-568-1223 or 815-405-2218.
