The nationally recognized Ryerson University event showcases some of Canada’s most talented upcoming fashion designers. Mass Exodus is an event synonymous with fresh creativity and innovation. The Runway Show will reveal Ryerson’s top 20 fourth year Fashion Design students, as chosen by guest curator, Elizabeth Cabral, Fashion Director at FLARE magazine. Their diverse collections will take viewers on a mysterious and intriguing journey through unexpected shapes, colours and concepts. As a prelude to The Runway, fourth year Fashion Communication students present The Exhibit starting at 5 p.m. located at POD-250, in Ryerson University’s Podium Building. The Exhibit showcases a variety of innovative and cutting-edge displays of illustration, photography, graphic design, motion graphics, fashion documentary and packaging. The 2011 theme Zenith + Nadir explores the question of what stands above, what is below and what lies between the reality in which we exist; delving into the unknown. Viewers will leave Mass Exodus 2011: Zenith + Nadir having experienced an enlightening journey understood only in the context of individual experience. This year Mass Exodus presents the first ever 96-page Zenith + Nadir magazine and program. The magazine highlights the work of Ryerson Fashion Communication and Design students across all four years and features candid interviews with fashion industry experts, an editorial shoot, Z+N style files and more. The Mass Exodus events are attended by over 5,000 spectators every spring including fashion industry leaders, Ryerson Faculty and friends, high schools and media.
